Day 13-Positive and Happy People

With all the crazy things going on in our country and the world, I am truly grateful to have positive people in my life. Their happiness makes life bearable and worth getting up in the morning for.

There is a lesson to be learned in positiveness. If we look at things in a better light than dwelling on those things that are negative, then we are drawing the positive to us.

I realize that sometimes people are just having a bad day or some sort of pain has happened, that is just called life. However, being happy for most part and having positive outlooks can only make life enjoyable for you and those around you.

10 Thoughts Tuesday...The Green Addition /March 13, 2012

1. Welcome back to my 10 Thoughts Tuesday. It is beautiful today (again). I am just happier.
2.  Unbelievable that Spring is here and it is the middle of March. Where has the time gone already? Oh and St. Patrick's day upon us. Whew!
3. For the first time in my entire life (if you can actually believe it), I am going out to have some fun on St. Patrick's Day. The hubster, kids and I are meeting up with a friend to have a good time. I have not seen my friend in like 4 years. He likes karoke...groans...but it should be fun none-the-less.
4. So, I just saw that apparently besides celebrating the green we should also be celebrating the blue. The blue planet that is Uranus. *chuckles* According to Ellen it was discovered today. *chuckles*
5. I know, I know...grow up Naila Moon! If she can laugh at it, I can too. Admit it, you were laughing too!
6.  Have you seen the new Minions trailer. Oh my gosh, talk about laughing! Just in case you didn't see it, here it is! 
7. Ah yes, moving on to more of my green thoughts. I am not sure what exactly makes them green today. Is it because they are purely random thoughts with no hint of alcohol or something else? *laughs*
8. Sheesh...that was really random for sure. I suppose I am just in a great mood today. How can I not be with all this sunshine, flowers peeking out and the "green" grass showing. 
9. I was just thinking, why am I inside when it is so nice out today? Hmmm...maybe it is because I have no gas in my car to go anywhere. Who can afford gas anyway.
10. Well, I am done for this week. Get outta here...go have some fun. You know, I will! Have a good week ya all.

My loves birthday

Yesterday was the love of my life, Tamirisc's, 51st...um, I mean 29th...birthday.  My Mom took us out, along with our grand-daughter, to breakfast. We had a wonderful time at Cracker Barrel.  I think our grand-daughter thought it was her birthday but that is ok.

Top 10 List...Thursday June 16th

I found a new blogger today (well she is new to me anyway) and every Thursday she post a Top 10 question. Honestly, I could not help to think David Lettermen and his Top 10!

Anyway, I digress.  Her question of the week was: 10 Things you want to do but haven't yet?  Although, I have my on-going Project 52 list which you can see HERE, I will list my 10 anyway (kind of random.

1. Go to the zoo
2. Go to Grant's Farm
3. Make those home made Christmas cards for my family and friends.

5. Get 25 of those pounds of fluffiness off

1.  What is your favorite bagel flavor? I think Bread Co.'s asiago cheese is the absolute best. I like them toasted with the walnut cream cheese. Yummy!

 
2.  If you had an extra $100 right now, what would you spend it on? A couch! Since we moved in we have hardly any furniture.
 

3.  What is the last thing that you felt guilt about doing?

Honestly,  I don't know.

 
4.  Soft serve ice cream or hand dipped?

Oh, soft serve hands down. I especially like Dairy Queen!

 
5.  Are you allergic to anything?
In recent months I have become allergic to eggs...although, I still eat them on occasion. I am also allergic to two specific drugs, one being sulfa drugs. 

 

This week is a "freebie" week for Monday's Music, so I am going to go with Alicia Keys. I "found" her a few years ago when she was coming on to the music scene. This is my favorite of her songs. Her voice is smooth and love the soul of it.

Technically, the first car I owned was a Ford Fiesta like this one. I co-owned it with my Mom. It was also a stick shift.

 
However, the first car I truly owned on my own was this Chevy Cavalier that I called "Freedom". My son wrecked it not two months after I bought her. sigh....

 
3.  Which TV Show were you sad to see end? 

Side note: Did you know that the actor, John Dye, that played the Angel of Death, died in January of heart failure?

4.  What is your lucky number? 

 
5.  Pretzels or Potato Chips?

I not only like potato chips better but I like this particular kind.

We have had soooooooo much rain here that we are flooding in parts. I had been attempting to get back to my 52 projects/goals that I set for myself this year. As dancing in the rain was one of them...well, just take a look. I only wished that Tamirisc had danced with me.  Have you danced lately?

Monday's Music

I am a huge fan of music. So much so that when I went deaf 7 years ago I lamented more about not being able to hear music than anything else. Seriously!

I was so happy when I came across a blogger that incorporated Mondays into music. Thus we have Monday's Music Moves Me hosted by Dolly at Xmas Dolly.

The idea here is to find a music video (or I guess you could make one of your own) that fits the theme for the week. Then post, link up and enjoy a great start to your week.  This week is Freebie week.

Soothing the soul baby style

One of the many pleasures of moving back home is getting my baby time. I am babysitting twice a week just enjoying everything being Grandma has to offer.

Even though my grand-daughter is a few months past 1 year old, I thought it important for us to create a play space for her in our small apartment.  I remember my Grandma had that for all of her grand-children and it is a nice memory for me and I want to make a memory for her. (and subsequent grand-children ?)

So, Tamirisc and I have a box full of toys and books which is of course at her level to dump and play in as she wishes.  This area is surrounded by some of my puppets and stuffed animals of (uh-hmm- cough) my younger days.

She played hard and we enjoyed our time together but then I think the jazz music I had playing soothed her soul because she finally went to sleep.

It really was one lovely day. I look forward to many more!

Excitment in the air

Today was one of those days that you just wanted to jump for joy.  

My daughter for awhile now (about a year) has been living out of a motel with one of her best friends. The reason this occurred is absolutely ridiculous and actually too tedious to even get in to. Let's just say though, the circumstances for it to have happened hurt her feelings quite a bit. Needless to say, I have been nothing but worried for her since it did occur.  The fact is, being that I was 3 states away from her, I could not do much for her either. sigh....

But then, that brings me to today.  

A little while ago I noticed on FB that she exclaimed "I HAVE A HOME!"  I immediately called her to listen to her good news and sure enough she did.

Oh but her new home is not some dinky apartment. Oh no! It is a 3 bedroom, two bath, with a fireplace, walk in closets, jacuzzi tub, his and her sinks...the works.  Here is the kicker too. She and her friend are only paying a little over $600.  Can you believe it?

She deserves this because she has worked hard and dealt with a lot of stuff to get here.


She moves tomorrow! ;-)
