Day 28...Hump Day and Thank You!

Before I even get started on this Wednesday post I have to thank you to all of my lovely followers.  Just yesterday, I received my 100th follower for this blog! I am most humble that you like my blog and I hope you continue to like what I have to say. Again, THANK YOU!

Now on to the Wednesday post.

I know it may seem odd but I was attempting to figure out where the term "Hump Day" originated.  I know, random, right?  It is simply how my mind sometimes works.

Anyway, so, I thought that I would consult Google-orb  ( my coined term for Google because it knows everything lol).  I found the most remarkable reasons for it!   Here is what I found:

World Dictionary/dictionary.com: "~n. informal  the middle day of the working week, usually Wednesday"

Wikipedia (if you trust the source): "...is a day of the week in the Gregorian calendar.  This day is between Tuesday and ThursdayWednesday is in the middle of the common Western 5-day workweek that starts on Monday and finishes on Friday. Also, when Sunday is taken as the first of every week, Wednesday is the day in the middle."

Urban Dictionary: "That thing Philip Defranco always talks about. Its a Wednesday. The hump you have to get over- the middle of the week. You feel relieved tomorrow is Thursday, then Friday, then- Weekend. (YES)"
Yahoo Answers: "Hump day is Wednesday. It is called this because it it in the middle of the work/school week and it is downhill from there.

Why are you asking in the dog section ?"

Wow, was that great information! Hear my tonal sarcasm? The truth is, I really could not find the real origin for the term and to tell you the truth, it really does not matter.  I just hope you got a good laugh and enjoy "Hump Day"!

See you tomorrow...peace,
