Here we are into the 3rd Sunday of Advent and the word for the day is 'JOY". Today is also what they call Gaudet Sunday. This means that there is only one more week before the baby Jesus is born and it is time to rejoice!
The question is, are we ready to rejoice? Are we bringing joy into our lives or are we mumbling and grumbling about world events?
In truth, it is all about what we choose for ourselves. I could complain because it is snowing today or, I could be joyful that the Earth is being watered and is decorated beautifully for the coming season.
It is all perspective and again, what we choose.
Here is one other thing to ponder. Do not let anyone steal your joy. Others try to do it all the time and often succeed. Why? Because we let them! If you are happy about what you are doing at this very moment, the rejoice!

Today over at Time Out For Mom, Rory has decided we need to chat over coffee about earworms. Now to me, that sounds kind of gross until you understand what it is supposed to be. I had never heard the term until today.
As it turns out, I have had tons of songs playing on a constant loop in my head today. You know how much I love music but sometimes I just want them to be out! Who would I be if I did not share with you some fine specimens?

I find it ironic that the letter "M" falls on Monday which just also happens to be tax day, otherwise know as money day. If you know me at all, it is also Monday's Music Day for me.

I was excited when I found this quote by Victor Hugo because it fits so perfectly for today.
As I have mentioned before, I love music. It really does help to express those things of our minds and hearts when we cannot seem to express them in words.
Who hasn't played a love song for another or a song when there has been a break up?
What about when you have been happy or sad? When you are angry and want to calm down?
How about wanting to dance?
I know I have played music and sung at the top of my lungs more than once for all of these incidences.
So, today the theme for Monday's Music is none other than money. Let me stop blogging here so you can start listening.

This week is a bit of challenge as it comes from my number 1 man, Tamirisc aka Chronicles of the Man Cave. He is challenging us this week to post songs that tell a story about our life or one encompassing song that can do the same thing. Whoa!! This is gonna be a ride so, hold on!
So as I was born in January of 1968 in a snow storm, I will start there.
The 70's and into the early 80's was all about school and traveling in the Summers. My parents always thought it was important we learned history through seeing places. For the record, I have been to 48 states and 3 countries. Some state numerous times.
One very poignant trip was traveling the original 13 colonies. We saw wagon trains all over the place. My Mother made us special outfits to wear too.
The outfit I am wearing here is the one my Mom and I wore for the '76 trip.
From 1982-1986 It was all about high school, partying and having a good time. Well, with working thrown in there too.
This group was the people I ran around with and partied with. I am still friend with some of them to this day.
During these years I met my first real love. His name was Aaron. We were engaged for 3 of the 6 years we were together. (For the record, we never married)
This song was the theme song from my Senior prom and yes, that is us.

In the Fall of 1986 I found myself in college for the first time. I was supposed to be majoring in Elementary Ed. instead I was majoring in Billiards and fun!

To those of us that are educated, it may seem like a simple thing and one we take for granted. However, in many countries this is not only unacceptable for girls and women but they can be maimed, or killed for such acts.
I can not even imagine that but it happens every day.
