Day 19: #Halloween Mash-up #music

I am making a slide to the right today so I can share this epic Halloween video I came across. The singer, Peter Hollens is well known for his musical interludes. However, this time, he has come up with something spookily good!

This is his mash up of what he calls, "Epic Halloween Medley".

I love it! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Days 17 & 18:#Vampires Live On #Halloween #CryptKeeper #music 2019

I am finishing up this week with my homage to the vampires. It is not unknown that vampires are associated with the love of blood. As gross as that may sound.

Here is a song that speaks of bloodletting.  This first song I am sharing with you is a new group to me but I love this driving beat throughout the whole song. The guitar entrance is fantastic!

This final song of the week is on a softer note. It is a one hour compilation of the darker aspects of vampires. It speaks of the emotions of being gothic and the Victorian eras of living a life of a vampire. It is beautiful as well as seductive.

Join me Saturday as I begin a new homage to the witches.

~Yours,
Michelle

Day 16:The #Vampire's Waltz #Halloween #CryptKeeper #music

Copyright
Imagine seeing a dark castles upon a hillside and you here lively waltz music coming from the inside. You cannot help yourself but follow the music and be drawn to the dim lights that afford lighting among the steep steps to the castle. The moon is full and gorgeous against the night sky.

You arrive and see many a people in dark and glorious costume and the guest are sweeping along the crowds that are watching and waiting their turn. A handsome and darkly figured man hold out his hand to take you to the dance floor. You do not resist because his black eyes burrow into you.

As you begin to dance, it is only then that you see his white-polished, sharp, teeth. You cannot run because you have just fallen into the trap of the vampire's waltz. You are smitten.

The music will certainly sound like this...

Monday's #Music Moves Me In A Snap! #CryptKeeper #Halloween

photo credit could not be found

Welcome back to my spook-tacular blog. It is time for Monday's Music Moves Me with those fab-boo-less ghouls, Xmas Dolly, Cathy, Alana, Callie, and Stacy.

Today they have a theme but as you know, I am posting Halloween music so, I try to incorporate their themes with my spooky music. It so happens, their theme this week is "Snaps or Clap." I am working on the theme of witches.

What better way to incorporate my first song that with the snaps of Morticia.

This next song does not meet my theme per se but for sure the 4M's and still keeping with the overall Halloween theme. I do love a good light show. This is appropriately called, "Handclap"

Make sure you link up your music with the 4M gals and tune in tomorrow as I continue on with my daily Halloween musical postings.  Don't forget to leave me a comment too.

Watch Out For the Monsters! #CryptKeeper #Halloween #music

Hello, again boils and ghouls! I am moving on to day 3 of creep-tastic music for Halloween.
This week I am working on monsters and zombies. Today's selections are new to me but very different.

The first song speaks about the monster growing within himself. This is not necessarily "Halloween-ish" but fits. Here is Imagine Dragons with "Monster"

This second song is a hilarious take on the monster, Freddy Kreuger, complete with scenes from the Nightmare movie. The singer is quite familiar, Will Smith, along with his long-time friend, DJ Jazzy Smith. Here is "Nightmare On My Street"

Enjoy and see you tomorrow.

Howling at the moon!

Monday's Music Moves Me...Sci-fy Movies or TV Themes #MondaysMusicMovesMe

It has been awhile since I played along with the gals at Monday's Music Moves Me. I miss you gals!
So, this week, with the new updated blog and all, I am thinking...yeah, it is time to come back.

This week the hostess with the mostess, X-mas Dolly, said there is a theme: Music from Sci-fy movies or TV themes. Okay then, I can do that!

First up: I am a bit of a sci-fy nerd...not as much as the hubby...but certainly, I like a bit of it. One of my favorites is Star Trek Deep Space 9. I recently came across the series again on TV and remembered why I liked it so much. This particular version of the theme music is performed by the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. Love it!

Next: The original Sci-fy series, "X-files" was a favorite of mine. I like the mystery of it and the ongoing alien theory. Who doesn't like a good alien story? The music for the show is as mysterious as the show itself.

Finally: Just like aliens, I love a good ghost story. One of the most intriguing TV series is that of "Dead Files". If you have not seen the talents of Amy Allen, then you have got to watch this show. It will spook you!

sigh...I just found out that they have no theme song on YouTube. However, I did find an episode where they were here in town. Oh....gotta go watch...be.right.back...

music

Okay so, let me try another one: One of my favorite movies was "Close Encounters" Does this really surprise you since aliens fascinate me?

Make sure you link up! Happy Monday!

Monday's Music Moves Me...#Elvis Week! #Halloween #music #movies 3/31

Hello my musical ghoulish friends. It is the first Monday of the month and if you have been following me at all, you know I rock out with Halloween in October. This month I am paying homage to all those boo-ti-ful movies of Halloween BUT I always stop to play some spook-tacular music for none other than Monday's Music Moves Me.

So, how do I combine the two. Hmm...

This week, we happen to have a theme picked by a mysterious Spotlight Dancer. Oooo....That is intriguing! This person wants to hear Elvis so, Elvis that person will get. NOTE: I have taken a bit of liberties with the theme this week. bwa ha ha ha

First for the movie. I am sure most of Halloween aficionados would not consider this a "Halloween" movie. However, in this movie Elvis finds himself on a hunt for a treasure map with a new love. Where else would this map be but in a ghost town where some pretty spooky things are happening.

This works for me so, let's go with it...shall we?

Song from the movie:

Finally: A conglomerate of Elvis songs for Halloween. (chuckles)

HAPPY JULY 4TH-HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hey all, Happy Birthday America!  I know I am supposed to be on some sort of vacation but hey, it is Monday and that means music to me! Thanks again to my friend, Cathy who is filling in for me as I take some time off. I appreciate the back up!

She happens to be the Spotlight Dancer and she chose, songs with "America" or "patriotic songs" in the title. Here it is from me. Dancing in my red, white, and blue....I'm off! ~Naila Moon

First up: I just heard this group on Facebook. They are awesome!

Next: This is from one of my favorite artist, Neil Diamond.

Finally: I love this man and his renditions of songs.

BONUS: I would be amiss, if I did not include this. This was probably one of the best Star Spangled Banners ever. The closest to her would be Lady Gaga. Of course her voice was squelched to soon.

Monday's Music Moves Me...In Memory... #MemorialDay #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hello my musical peeps! It is Monday and that means music, in fact it is the last Monday of May...wham! We are into Summer fun in the sun. This shin-dig is hosted by Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Callie, Stacy, and me.

This day also happens to be Memorial Day and I honor those who died for my country in order for it to remain free. I wish to dedicate this particular episode of 4M's to them and especially to one of my former students, Andrew Habsieger. He died in 2008 in Baghdad.

Monday's Music Moves Me...Freebie Week! #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Welcome back to the best musical day of the week , Monday's Music Moves Me. It is hosted by the musical conductor of Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by the music train crew of, Stacy, Calli, and myself.
Let's go!

This week is freebie week which tends to be a musical education day so, let's see what I have for you and you have for me.

First up:
I sometimes get on these, what I call tangents, where I get fixated on a certain thing. Yesterday, it was on American Idol. I was wanting to see (hear) the music from 2002 with Kelly Clarkson and Justin Guarini. That lead me to people who did not win, like Justin. However, here they are together!

Next up:
Keeping in this still frame of mine, one of my favorites on the earlier shows was Clay Aiken who lost to the "Big Teddy Bear" Reuben. This song, in my mind, made him the best singer of the lot.

Finally:
This David who I could only refer to as Mr. Bedroom Eyes, lost out to the other David, Mr. Rock & Roll. I loved both of them in very different ways.

Music Soundtrack for Monday's Music Moves Me #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hello, one and all! I am zooming in here at fast speed because it has been one crazy weekend and I am just now getting here. Oh yes, it is a new month to boot. November! Can you believe it?

Of course today is also my favorite musical day of the week, Monday's Music Moves Me! It is hosted by none other than Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Colette and me! Let's get to dancing because frankly, I have got to get movin' again soon.

This week we are doing a theme. I thought it was supposed to be a freebie week but hey, I don't argue with Dolly so...she says that our spotlight dancer missed his chance of boogie-ing with us and well, we just can't have that. So, Alex Cavanaugh chose movie soundtracks. I like it!

First up: I did not post this one during my Halloween homage. However, I love this piece and worth the post, plus it fits so well. It is 100 minutes long so, listen to a bit and move on. I won't know.

Next up: Switching gears here. Robin Williams was known for some very powerful movies. One of the most powerful and surely controversial was Goodmorning Vietnam. This soundtrack by Louie Armstrong spoke volumes versus what was going on at the time.

Finally: This last one is from one of the funniest movies I think Whoopi Goldberg ever did. The music from it is priceless!  I do ask you to ignore the remarks of the poster because that person is just being a bone head. From Sister Act.

There ya have it! See ya tomorrow! ~Naila Moon

Last Week of Halloween Music! It's Monday's Music Time in the Crypt! #Halloween

Welcome back to ye ole' crypt for another blood curling Monday. Every Monday features Monday's Music Moves Me hosted by Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Colette, and moi!

This week our Spotlight dancer is the Boogie Man. Our hostess of the mostess says it is all about Halloween and well, since I have been Halloween-ing all month, that is great for me. So, grab your witchy shoes and hit the old grave yard and let's dance with all of the spooks! The Boogie Man knows how to have a party!

Little joke: What do mummies like listening to on Halloween?

Ready for it?

Wrap music!
bwa ha ha ha

In keeping with my month long Halloween theme, I am sure I have some goodies stirring in the kettle. So, what do I have for my boos and ghouls? Hmm....

First up:Since we are already at the hop and the skeletons have got the party going, why don't we invite the monsters? Not well known for his singing, Bert Convy was better known for his acting and more so for his game show hosting.

Next: They say ( whomever "they" is) that dead men tell no lies. Well, I have it on great authority that actually a dead man knows how to party. At least that is what Oingo Boingo has said.

Finally: The party is really rolling down at the grave yard under the light of the moon. These crazy ghost have started the cha cha. Want to join them?

Well, that is it for another spook-tacular musical feature. Join me the rest of the week as the countdown continues. Happy hauntings.

Monday's Music Moves Me Down In The Crypt Keeper's Crypt...Freebie Week

Howlllll-ooooooooo everybody. It is I, you favorite Crypt Keeper, Naila Moon. I am co-host of this wonderful Monday shin-dig we call Monday's Music Moves Me. I am always happy to co-host along with the other musical gals: Hostess:Xmas Dolly, co-hostess:Colette, and Stacy.  Let's go!

This week it is freebie week which is always fun because I get to see what you all can come up with and get that musical education once in awhile.

I am continuing on with my homage to Halloween music and invite you to come back daily for a selection of the day.

First up:
Ole Blues Eyes is his name, and crooning out the tunes is his game. I love this singer's voice and glad when  the occasion to post him pops up.

Next up:
This singer, take a twist on one of the creepiest families and neighbors I know out there, the Addam's.

Finally:
I know a few people who are afraid of the furry pet spiders. However, when the Spookmeisters. The Who sings about them, I just want to scream!

Have a great week and see you tomorrow.

Monday's Music Moves Me....Freebie Day!

It is Monday which of course means it is time for music and mayhem. Ok, well, maybe not the mayhem but certainly music.

This week we have a freebie week which means I get to subject you...er, I mean share with you music I like or have found.

So, getting to it. I asked my son what songs he would like to hear.

First up:
This is a popular one right now but a fun one at that.

Next up: He then suggested this song...

Since he was on a roll, I asked him for this last one...

Rock on! ~Naila Moon

F is for Flights/friendly/Flight Attendants/Funny/Flight bags #atozchallenge

Recently, I took a flight on Southwest Airlines. Now, I have nothing against other airlines and I have flown a few others but I just really like Southwest. Besides the fact their flights are cheaper than other airlines, they have some of the friendliest staff ever. They seriously go above and beyond.

In addition, they have friendly flight attendants and often as funny as can be. I found this list of quotes to be a hoot!

Have you ever wondered what the flight attendants carry in their flight bags? I have too. I actually found a flight attendant who let the secrets out of the bags. Go HERE to read about it.

So for the music today I am playing for you some favorites!

Monday's Music Moves Me...Oh Those High School Days 3/30/15 #MondaysMusicMovesMe #music

Hello and welcome to the last Monday of the month. We are just moving on in this year at a fast pace. Unreal. However, I am taking the days as they come and enjoying the ride.

Today being music day, we have a theme this week. It is music that would have been played when you were 16.

As I was an '80s teen, this should be fairly easy.
I would have hit 16 around 1984.

Doesn't he look like he is trying to steal my watch?

This first song was from the Pop group The Pointer Sisters. We were certainly "jumping" in the 80's and they were too when the did a band make-over.

Next: As this was the year I found my first boyfriend. Almost all love songs were where it was at for me. This popular singer made several albums during the 80's and this was one that stood out in 1984.

Next: This was the first year I went to Prom. (Yes, that is me up there, all of 16 years old!) I was so excited. The theme for that year was of course taken from a song...Almost Paradise.  The movie, Footloose was very popular at the time.
For me, life as Almost Paradise in so many ways.

Finally: I was a huge Michael Jackson fan throughout the 80's but I was also a fan of this singer. In fact, I had a huge poster of him on my ceiling in my room. LOL  He had several hits including this one in 1984 which turned into a movie. (Just an FYI-to even find a video of Prince is amazing as a few years ago he sued YouTube for infringement rights.)

Well, that is it folks. Make sure to link up and I also ask you to come back everyday in April as I attempt the A-Z challenge. There will be music, quotes, and thoughts. ~Naila Moon

Monday's Music Moves Me...TV Themes to hit Top 40 2/16/15 #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hey, it's Monday! That means it's time for another whirlwind of music by the Monday's Music Moves Me gals. You know us...hosted by Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Colette, and yours truly.

Where is Becca you say? Well, sadly, she has taken off to do other things and will not be returning. I wish you well. Since she is a huge Disney fan, this song is for her...

Before we get into more music, like we have done the last few weeks, we have a social media follow here. Just link up where you want us to follow and we will be by.  Make sure to show your name and what we are following. It helps so that we don't repeat.

So...this week, we have a theme which has been a bit tricky for me. Translated into, I could not think of a thing. However, I prevailed! The theme is: Television themes that became Top 40 hits.

So after a little bit of investigation and admittedly making sure I was not repeating anyone else, I came up with these.

First up: Even though today, these boys would not at all be politically correct, I did watch their show full of cars chases, bad cops, and of course cousins, Daisy Dukes. I am talking about, "The Duke's of Hazzard". Their theme song by Waylon Jennings hit #21 in 1980.

Next up: Meant to poke fun at Super Heroes, this show featured a professor who found a suit that made him an instant super hero, the only thing is, he lost the instruction of how to use the suit. oops!
Written by Joey Scarbury this theme song hit #2 on the charts in 1981. I give you the "Greatest American Hero" theme song.

Finally: In the early 1980's...1981 to be exact... a TV show hit the airwaves to pay homage to the 1970's era. It brought about a little show called WKRP that made the love affair of '70s music kept alive.  Although, in truth this song only by Steven Carlise made #65 it is still worthy to be on my list.

Song-suasion...quick post #music

Happy Saturday everyone. I am hanging out with my musical friend Cathy K. today for Song-suasion. It is mid-afternoon here so, I am obviously a bit late. No matter, it is always music time!

So, quickly posting let's get an up beat movin' and groovin' song.
