#MondaysMusicMovesMe...Hometown songs

Hello everybody. Amazing that this is the last Monday in July. Kids are going back to school soon which is even more amazing to me. Where did the summer go?

As you know this is also my last day for co-hosting duties but I am not going away. Oh no, I'll be around still just maybe not as often. We will see. Don't forget those other lovely ladies. Our fearless musical leader, Xmas Dolly, and co-hosts, Cathy, Colette, Stacy, and Becca. These ladies rock it with me every week. Make sure to say hello to them and everyone that links up. This is certainly what makes the 4M's fun.

This week we have a theme which is different and challenging at the same time. The theme is: Hometown Bands, Artist, or Songs

Ok, so here I go...

As many of you already know, I am from Missouri. I grew up in a small town about an hour and a half from St. Louis called Farmington.  Later, teen years we moved about 45 minutes north of there to Festus so we were now 30 minutes from St. Louis but still in fairly small town.

Of course you know, I transplanted to Denver, Colorado in 2008 but, I also lived south of San Diego and for a time, in Edwardsville, Illinois. All in all, Missouri is still to me, my home town and where most of my family still lives.

In looking for bands, I decided to go with Missouri and leave Colorado for Tamirisc who was born and raised here.  This first band I found actually hailed from Kansas City, MO. I had never heard of them before but love their sound. They are aptly called, "Missouri "

This Gospel singer hails from the St. Louis area. She is known to belt out a tune wherever she is. I would only know this because she was once a personal friend and co-worker. We sat beside each other for nearly a year and she often entertained me with her powerful and beautiful voice. She went on to cut a couple of CD's and left the office for the music business. This wonderful lady is Lady Eneazer Blissett-Moore.

This next band is actually from Festus, MO where I spent the majority of my life. They now are based in St. Louis and are still quite popular in the area. They do not forget where they are from and often still perform in Festus. They are, " The Bottle Rockets"

Although not born in Missouri, this singer moved to St. Louis when he was seven and claims to hail from there as that is where he was discovered. He has been wildly successful and has his own clothing lines too.
None other than, Nelly.

I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for listen to my tunes every week. You all rock!

Sign It Saturday and Song-suasion

Good afternoon everyone. I suppose in actuality it is almost evening, so, good evening.

This is the day I want to post my ongoing quest to learn sign language but I have been busy today. Since that has been the case today, I thought I might combine a couple of post.

My friend, and co-host  Cathy, from Mondays Music, has a musical meme on Saturdays called, Song-suasion.  I thought I would combine some sign language with music. I hope that is ok with you as it is with me. Ha!

As I have said before, sign language can be and is a beautiful language. I found these songs that I think work perfect for today.

This first one is simply a review lesson of the alphabet.

This next one is just gorgeous!

This last piece is a musical piece I love but to have it in sign is even more brilliant!

#Review:Shoplet Office Supplies-Steelmaster Tablet Stand/Soho Pen & Note Holder/MMF Store It Box #shopletreviews

I recently received some more office supplies from Shoplet.com. The items I received could have not come at a better time because I am in the middle of office rearrange and needed some extra stuff.

The first item is the Steelmaster Tablet Stand. This is an unbelievably sturdy stand to hold an iPad. The stand can be flipped either horizonally or vertically but with it in vertical postion the iPad can be inserted in a little groove which holds it in place. In addition, the stand is postioned in such away for easy reading.

Now, if you have kept up with my office supply love, you would also know I do not own an iPad. However, I decided to use this for holding paper that I was using for transcipt. It worked perfectlly for that too!

The next item sent is the Soho Pen & Note Holder. I don't know about you but my pens and pencils get dropped everywhere and that makes it difficult to find when I really need them. This holder comes with four holes to hold just about any size pen. It also comes with four slots that can hold anything from paper up to CD's. It is made of steel which means it will hold up for years to come. This holder came to me in the silver color but the company does sell it in black too.

As you can see, I already started filling this up and used it right away on my desk. No problems finding a pen or pencil again!

The final item that was sent to me is the MMF Store It Box. First of all, I love the red color, it makes it easy to find if you are looking for it. This is the only color this particular box comes in.

The box is not overly large but can hold precious jewelry, small electronics, documents or money. For the time being, I am holding all of our remotes in it. The nice thing about this box is that it does lock. So, if money or jewelry is what you want to secure then it is safe.

Thank you Shoplet.com for all the things you sent. They are all an awesome addition to my office and home.

Disclosure: I was sent all of the items mentioned above for free in exchange for my open and honest opinion. The views expressed here are 100% my own and may differ from yours.

#Review: Costume Supercenter...He's Batman!

Recently, my husband and I, had the opportunity to review another costume from Costume Supercenter.com  Obviously, we chose to review Batman. Na-na-na-na-BATMAN!  He looks like a kid in a candy store, doesn't he? Batman is one of his favorite comic book superheroes so this was a win for us.

This adult costume which comes in medium, large, and extra-large is made of  good sturdy but flexible material. The costume came with the muscle chest shirt and headpiece with a cape.
There is a caution that the wearer should stay away from fire, therefore, the costume is not flame resistant.

Tamirisc said that wearing the chest piece will keep you warm on those cold Halloween nights but for the head piece, you might want to wear a hat under it. In additon, you might want to wear a long sleeve shirt under the chest piece as this is only short sleeved. To complete the whole ensemble, wear long dark pants and dark shoes. (Although, my husband tells me that grey pants should be worn because this is the Batman from 1939-1989. I told you, he knows comic book characters.)

I had a quick opportunity to catch Tamirisc...um, I mean Batman...before he flew off to rescue something. Check this out:

Overall, we loved this costume from Costume Supercenter.com and this will certainly be the costume Tamirisc wears when we head to the Halloween Ball this year. Two thumbs up!

Find them on:

Disclosure: I was given a full costume for reveiw for my open and honest opinion. A family member was used as a model to assess my opinion and his opinions were included with this review  The views expressed here are 100% my own or that of my family members and may differ from yours.

#MondaysMusicMovesMe...Freebie Time

Photobucket Hello everybody, it is one hot Monday today. Our air conditioner is still busted so two fans to cool us is not quite doing the job. However, I am not going to complain because at least we have them when others don't.

So, it is 4M's day. You know all of us dancing queens, Xmas Dolly is the head of our fun along with Cathy, Stacy, Callie, Becca and me.

**I do have an announcement though about me. I have decided to step off of my co-hosting duties. I need to be free of a few things and co-hosting is one of them. I may not be gone forever and want to come back next year sometime but for now this has to be. So, as of next week will be my last week of co-hosting.
I will not be gone though. Oh, no! In fact, you will most likely see me every week still just not in the co-host spot.**

Now for the music! This week is a freebie week and I thought maybe I would have a little more fun than normal. I have been seeing a lot of parodies for music lately and thought I would share some.

First up: I loved this one by the Swiss soldiers in Afghanistan.

Next up: This guy is know for his parodies of music.

Finally: I am including this very funny vlogger/blogger, Mama Kat, who often does her own musical stylings. This one is Taylor Swift.

Have a great week!

#Review:Bi-silque-MasterVision-3-in-1-Planner from Shoplet #shopletreviews

I do not know about you, but if I do not have a calendar or planner of some sort with me, I would go stark raving mad. Seriously! I have too many appointments and things to do to keep it all straight in my head.

My Mother is the same way and she says, " If I don't write it down in my calendar it doesn't exist." She is funny at times.

Anyway, I was super happy when Shoplet.com sent me this:

This is what they call the Bi-silique Master Vision 3-in-1 Planner. Huge name I know, but receiving this made my day! The company says it is, "A multi-tasking board that works well for busy people." That is simply no joke!

This planner is made of aluminum which makes it not overly heavy but still heavy enough to hold up to wear. It does come with a heavy duty mounting kit. I attached mine on a hall wall near my kitchen which is great because we can see what is coming up next.

This came with 3 round, strong magnets and also a cork area with pins at the bottom to hang up practically anything on the board. A nice little tray holds everything too.

Of course my favorite thing about the board is the dry-erase features. I can write all of my appointments or things to do on the planner/calendar or I can make a list on the left side of the board. Then when the new month comes...whoosh...I erase everything and start again.

To say the least, I am very very happy with this item. If you would like to pick one up for yourself, check it out HERE. It is pretty affordable too.

Thanks again, Shoplet.com!

First up: I have adored this singer from the very first time I heard him. He recently has come back into the limelight and I am so glad.

Next up: This singer I have liked for a few reasons. First of all he co-starred in the show, "Touched By An Angel", he is a kind and spiritual person,  but more importantly, he actually employed several of my family members.

Last singer I have for you is someone I actually posted last week. I simply have always liked him and his diversity of singing:

Have a good week! ~Naila Moon

Georgia Industry for the Blind #Giveaway #GIB...Youth or Child Hooded Hunting Vest & $25 Paypal

It is with our pleasure that Away We Go Media is sponsoring a giveaway on behalf of The Georgia Industry For the Blind.

This company is amazing for what they do and I am honored to be a part of this giveaway for them.

In 1937, the Georgia Legislature passed House Bill No. 114, which established the Georgia Factory for the Blind. In 1982 that name was changed by the legislature to Georgia Industries for the Blind. GIB's first plant opened in 1949, in Bainbridge. Four years later, in 1953, a second plant was opened in Griffin. More than 60 years later, both plants are still vital contributors to their communities and provide job opportunities for persons from throughout the state who are blind. In 2008, GIB opened a third plant in Albany. In 2010, GIB opened its first service site at Robins Air Force Base in Warner Robins.
The company produces and sells high quality office products including file folders, binders and card guides along with pillows, traffic and job site safety vests including a new line of hunting vests sized to fit adults and children. There is something for everyone to be found here. Georgia Industries for the Blind is set to generate its total operating budget through the sales of its products and services and are now unfunded by state or federal government. GIB is self supportive!

To highlight the company, its products, and to seek out new customers to the facility, Georgia Industry for the Blind is offering the choice of a youth or child's hunting vest made by its employees to a lucky winner.

This is a new line from GIB with a complete line of Hunter Safety vests. Their vests are produced from 100% ANSI approved Hi-Visibility safety orange polyester material and offered in several designs including Adult, Youth and Children’s styles with hoods for improved visibility.

The flier above shows two photos displayed side by side. On the left, a child is wearing a safety vest without a hood and the photo on the right shows a child with our new hooded safety vest. Which vest would you want your child to wear?

The winner will get a choice of a child or youth size hooded hunting vest. In addition to the hunting vest, Away We Go Media is giving that same lucky winner $25 Paypal cash.

Let's build pride and help GIB stay committed to providing employment for visually impaired individuals. All of this is a win for the Georgia Industry for the Blind and for you!

Sign It Saturday ABC & 123's

As part of my 52 possible goals to accomplish this year, I have planned to learn sign language, at least more than I know.

I thought I might post some sign for you to learn along with me.  It never hurts to know another language.

I already know this basic sign quite well but it does not mean you do.

So, let's start at the beginning... ABC & 123

#MondaysMusicMovesMe...Freebie and Giveaway ReminderTHe

I cannot believe what a quick week we had. The days are going so fast and before you know it, Summer of 2014 will be gone. Whoosh...
I do hope we can slow it down a little bit and enjoy it while we have it...this past winter was awful and we need it. Right?

Anyway, we are back with another 4M's hosted by Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Callie, Cathy, Becca and of course me. This week is a freebie week which is wonderful because I get to play my tunes for you.

Before I get to that though, do not forget to enter my giveaway from the 4M's giveaway bonanza (check right side bar) and enter the other gals too.  There are really some fantastic prizes. It ends next Tuesday so, don't miss it!

One last thing. I am sorry that I have not been around to see all of you in the last couple of weeks. I have done all I could just to get things posted. I was in the hospital right before July 4th and still recovering. I promise though, I will get to your post today!

Ok, on to the music...

Remember last week I posted the Monkees' song? The very next day my hubby brought me a surprise. Two of the original albums ( and yes, I mean the vinyl kind) that I had back as a teenager and lost. For the record I owned all of them.  Anyway, that hubby of mine is a keeper!

Next...I heard via Facebook announcement that this band is returning with a new album. That makes me
excited and Tamirisc too!

I do not know if you have seen this singer recently in commercials. He looks so different that it is almost unreal. Anyway the one, the only...

Oh let's do one more. Shall we?

I know...what a way to end...LOL I just take the music as it comes to me. ;)

Making A U.S. Flag while being A Ninja! Happy 4th of July Everyone!

Back over Memorial Day weekend, I made a U.S. flag for my door. I did not get to post that for you, my readers, so what better time than for July 4th.

I found the idea on Pinterest although theirs was made out of a tiny pallet which of course I did not have. However, I looked at it and thought about paint sticks. So, in true fashion Tamirisc and I staked out the paint department of Walmart and picked up a few free paint sticks. *chuckles*

-------------
Side story: We were all acting really stealth getting these paint sticks which are free to begin with. There was no employee in the paint department and the sticks were under the counter in big boxes. Tamirisc goes to get some as I look on, only for the manager to come up and stare at us. He never said anything but me acting all guilty says, "We needed some paint sticks."

The manager turns out was not paying attention to us anyway. So, as soon as he left, we grabbed a few more! I shoved them in my purse. You know, all ninja like!
-----------

Back to the flag. So, once we were home with the paint sticks and I painted all of them with Gesso and then white first. I then painted in the left corner the blue field. I made my own tiny star stencil from a piece of scrap paper and a star punch I found at some store. Joann's Fabric perhaps?
Anyway, I made 5 star punch and then used it to make rows of white stars.  I did not do all 50 stars due to room.

I then painted and even amount of red stripes. I assembled them in order red and white. I glued each stick together with some Mod Podge. (Boy do I like that stuff!)
I duct taped the back for extra security and added an old black bead necklace to hang it with. I have since replaced that with simple brown twine which works better.

Finally, I hung it on my door and think it looks terrific!  What do you think?
Happy 4th of July everyone!

#Review: Saunders Supplies from Shoplet.com #shopletreviews

Not too long ago I told you my secret about coveting office supplies and how much I like them. Well, just a couple of days ago, I received more in the mail from Shoplet.com Wheeee....

This time it was like opening one of those awesome Christmas presents you sometimes get. You know what I mean, the one with one big thing and a bunch of little stuff. Yeah, that kind.

Most of the stuff was inside of this, the Saunders SlimMate Storage Clipboard

This time I received the following items for review:

*Saunders SlimMate Storage Clipboard
*Recycled hard back clipboard
*UHU Glue Stic
*UHU Glue 'n Style Pen
*UHU Tac Propower
*UHU Tac HomeDeco
*UHU Tac Adhesive Putty

As soon as I opened everything up, I started in using it. I like to do a lot of art-y stuff and having the UHU Glue Stic and UHU Glue 'n Style Pen was just what I needed.

The UHU Glue 'n Style is nice to have as I can just put a pinpoint of glue on something or I could make a whole line of glue. The glue comes out clear and once it is on there, it does not come off.

The UHU Stic is also great to have because I can use that over or on top of pieces that I am gluing down on my artwork and the glue will not show. When you first use it, the glue looks blue but it dries clear.

Since I have been getting all these postcards in the mail I was able to use the UHU Tac to hang them up with. I also have a map which fell down the other day. I used this stuff on the back of it to hang it back up...no problem staying up! The UHU Tac is strong and seemingly reliable.

I am sure I will have many more projects and art work to hang up in the near future. Not to mention around Christmas time the UHU Tac will be quite handy to hang up decorations.

As mentioned I received two different kinds of clipboards. The first is a small hardback clipboard. I have not used it quite yet but it is small enough I can put my papers on it and use it right next to my laptop.

Finally, I also received the SlimMate Storage Clipboard that had all the stuff mentioned above inside of it. Scroll up again to the top and you can see my husband holding that product. This item came in pink which of course I like but it comes in different colors to choose from.

Here my husband and I talk about the product.
