Review & #Giveaway: Buster Brown 100% Cotton Anklet Socks from Wearever #WeareverUS

I have spoken about the fact that I have Type 2 diabetes. I take medicine and have to have a healthier eating lifestyle. In addition, I cannot wear tight fitting clothes especially on my feet and legs. That is why I was happy to have received the Buster Brown 100% Anklet Socks from Wearever.

These socks made by Buster Brown are for comfort and durability. They are great for those with poor circulation, easily irritated skin, and for people like me with diabetes. Believe me, I do not want my socks strangling my ankles!

A nice thing too was they had a couple of colors to choose from but the biggest win for me is they fit my feet!
Seriously! I have size 11 wide feet and it is tough to find socks that are the right size for my feet.

The socks have wonderful airflow which is great since it is Summer right now. They are also not heavy on my feet which is also a great thing because I do not like that feeling.

Check out some more of my thoughts from my video.

This is what the company has to say about these socks.
Wearever offers 100% cotton socks made by Buster Brown for maximum comfort and durability. Appropriate for those with poor circulation, easily irritated skin, or diabetes, Buster Brown 100% cotton socks are made with no elastic or synthetics. The seamless design of Buster Brown cotton socks with cushioning improve comfort, reduce binding, and eliminate skin irritation. Wearever currently offers three comfortable styles of socks.

You can find out even more at their Pinterest page, their Website, and Facebook page.

Blog-a-thon kickin' it off! #blogathon2 6/23/14 AN UPDATE

Biannual Blogathon Bash

6/23/14 UPDATE
Well, I did not get through my goals for the blogathon this time.(See beginning blog below)
However, I did break a nail or two, I did manage to get some review/giveaways done. Sunday seemed like a bust for me as I could not focus on what needed to be done. I was so scattered.

Somehow, I missed all the Twitter parties but the very last one. That was fun. It was nice to catch up with some blogger buds too.

Over all, the blogathon is well worth the time and that is a true fact. Join in for the 2015 one to be announced soon.
~Naila Moon
-----------

Here it is again the blog-a-thon weekend where some of us bloggers...the cool ones of course (HA!)...take an entire weekend to do what we do best, blog!  Well, sort of anyway.

What happens really is many things that have to do with blogging. We all know that does not necessarily mean actual blogging as there is a lot of prep work too.

Blogging also means cleaning up our to do list, deleting the 1000 emails that have piled up, changing our backgrounds and making them look pretty, and more...it really means so much.

That is the essence of blog-a-thon weekend to take the time to do all of it or at least a good chunk and yes, blog too.  Oh and participating in tweet chats and this blog-a-thon gets you some prizes too.

So, this is my start off point for the weekend. I am getting started late and I will be off and on with it as I have life plans this weekend too.

Are you attending? Let me know with a link and I will at least try to come say hello sometime this weekend.

~Naila Moon
PS>
This is some of the stuff I will be doing (hopefully):
1. Catching up on book reviews for my Reading Authors blog.
2. Doing a couple of reviews/giveaways on this blog.
3. Breaking a nail or two
4. HA! Just seeing if you were paying attention
5. Doing some mini challenges
6. Write a blog or two
7. Write part of my book
8.  I am sure there is much more but my brain is not wanting to write it.

#Giveaway: Lego Movie on Blu-ray #TheLEGOMovie

I want to see hands up. Who has a stash of Legos somewhere in their home? Who has played with them? Who has gone out to Legoland "just for the kids"? Yeah, I see you there!

Most of all, who is excited that the Lego movie is out on Blu-ray? You? Well guess what it is!

The LEGO® Movie, the first-ever, full-length theatrical LEGO® adventure, directed by Phil Lord & Christopher Miller is an original 3D computer animated story that follows Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.

Chris Pratt (Moneyball) stars as the voice of Emmet. Will Ferrell (The Campaign) stars as the voice of his primary adversary, President Business, an erudite, anal-retentive CEO who has a hard time balancing world domination with micro-managing his own life; while Liam Neeson (Taken) voices the president's powerful henchman, known as Bad Cop, who will stop at nothing to catch Emmet.
Starring as Emmet's fellow travelers are Oscar® winner Morgan Freeman (Million Dollar Baby), as Vitruvius, an old mystic; Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games, Emmy nominee for 30 Rock), as tough-as-nails Lucy, who mistakes Emmet for the savior of the world and guides him on his quest; Will Arnett (Emmy nominee, 30 Rock), as the mysterious Batman, a LEGO minifigure with whom Lucy shares a history; Nick Offerman (NBC's Parks and Recreation) as a craggy, swaggering pirate, obsessed with revenge on President Business; and Alison Brie (Community) as a sweet, loveable member of the team, with a powerful secret.

Want to have some fun? Click on the blog app above and make up to a 6 minute video. Each video is automatically uploaded to the Lego Movie YouTube channel so everyone can enjoy them. YOUTUBE Sounds like fun to me! Best part is you can also upload it to Twitter or Facebook.
I made one too. Check it out! My Lego Movie

Here is more Lego fun. Win a copy of The Lego Movie on Blu-ray courtesy of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. Enter in the Rafflecopter below. NOTE:Make sure to read the rules and disclosure.

Good luck!

#Review: Bedtime Bliss Sleep Mask #bedtimebliss

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I don't know about you but when I sleep, sans insomnia, I like to have a little bit of light in the room. I do not need much but just a smidgen.

My husband, Tamirisc, is exactly the opposite, he cannot sleep unless it is completely dark. He does not even want to see the light from our bedroom alarm clock.

What are you supposed to do when this happens?

Well, the solution for him is a sleep mask but not all sleep mask are the same.
Lo, and behold I received the opportunity to review the Bedtime Bliss Sleep Mask.

The company has this to say about the Bedtime Bliss Sleep Mask:
*Patented contour design allows for complete eye movement
*Total blackout
*Will not smudge makeup
*Rest on the face around the eye and does not touch the eye
*Adjustable straps to fit all head sizes
*Does not interfere with REM sleep
*Light weight and washable
*Fits nicely into purse or travel case

Tamirisc was very excited to try out this sleep mask. After what seemed like a restful nights sleep for him, I asked him on video what his thought were. Please watch!

As you can see we both liked this product and certainly do recommend it. Two thumbs up!

Disclosure: I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Below you will find the daily challenges. Join me and have some fun!

Monday's Music...Rock Legends! #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hello there and welcome back to our 198th week of Monday's Music Moves Me hosted by Xmas Dolly and the co-crew of Stacy, Callie, Cathy, Becca & me! Hang on because in just a mere two weeks we will be celebrating our 200th episode. There will be prizes and fun by all.

Our Spotlight Dancer is that musical dude himself, Dave Moody! Strum us a tune Dude!

So, this week has a theme which is "Rock Legends". I suppose we could not have had a better theme today as one certain legend that was not a rocker but played the music of many, passed away yesterday, that being Casey Kasem.

I remember for weeks on end listening to him run the Top 40 countdown on our St. Louis station. I never missed one. He had a way of presenting the music and reading the many letters that were sent in to the station. He certainly will go down as a legend and deserves the spot here and now. Thanks for the Top 40, your voice is already missed!

Now, on to the music...
There are so many people that could be considered musical legends but I have narrowed only to four.

First up this rock legend from Britain had his own single career but was best known for his lead vocal in the rock band, Queen. I give you, Freddie Mercury.

Next up, this American singer was lead singer/songwriter for the band Big Brother and the Holding Company. However, she is best known for her appearance at Woodstock.  This is none other than Janis Joplin.

Next up this American singer originally sang gospel music in her Father's church only later to have a much more secular career. She appeared in the Blues Brothers movie and is often called the "Queen of Soul". Show some "respect" for Aretha Franklin.

Finally, this American singer/guitarist began his career at the age of 15. He was known throughout the United States but became a hit in the UK with over 10 Top 10 hits. With his fame, he earned himself top paid headliner for Woodstock...and the world was never the same. This is guitarist legend, Jimi Hendrix.

Mondays Music...Your Musical Selections Part 1 #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hello everyone, welcome back to Monday's Music Moves Me.
It is a sun-shiny day which is quite welcome after all the rain and tornado weather we had.

This weekly musical adventure is hosted by none other than Xmas Dolly and cot-hosted by Callie,Cathy, Stacy and myself. Oh and look at this...Becca has agreed to join (permanently) our musical train too. Whoo hoo!

Let's get moving shall we?

A few weeks ago I did a survey on Facebook of what my FB people might like to listen to. So, here is part one of those songs.

First up, from one of my best friends, Debra she chose this:

Next came from Rachel:

To round this day up. I did one of those goofy surveys on Facebook that half the time doesn't mean diddly squat. This one didn't either really. I think this one was what song represents you. So, this was my results.

Have a fantastic week. More of "your" music to come.

Pimento Cheese

I found this recipe on Facebook that was posted from the ladies of Sweet and Savory Sisters. My intention is to save to Pinterest for future reference but I thought you all might enjoy this too.

Growing up we often had store bought pimento cheese. It is something I actually enjoy on hamburgers. My parents simply liked it spread over bread like a sandwich.

This could be very interesting to make and have.
~Naila Moon
--------------
Mom’s Minner Cheese (Pimento Cheese)

What you will need-
4 cups sharp cheddar cheese at room temperature, finely grated
3 cups Monterey jack cheese at room temperature, finely grated
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
¼ cup onion, grated
2 4 ounce jars pimento, with juice
1 cup mayonnaise (add more if you like it real mayonnaisy)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon white pepper
For something a little different, add one of these-
½ cup jalapeno slices, chopped
1 4.25 oz can chopped olives
3 teaspoons capers
¾ cup toasted pecans

Let’s make some of Mama’s Minner Cheese-
We need to tell you the 411 on store-bought shredded cheese. Pre shredded cheese has a preservative added to keep it from clumping. Therefore, when you add the mayo to the cheese, it just doesn’t combine and form the right texture. Now, we do use it from time to time and it works great on a lot of different things. However, it does not work well when making pimento cheese. Also, let your cheese come to room temp before you grate it. We know we put it up there in the list of things you will need but we want to re-emphasize the importance of this step. Now that we have given you the 411 on the 911 let’s get to making the minner cheese. This is an easy one, folks. Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl and serve it anyway you would like. Store your minner cheese in the fridge.

Here we are into June and the first Monday as well. Of course that only means it is time to rock on out with the Monday's Music Crew. You know us...lead by Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Callie, Cathy and Me.  Cathy is taking a vacation break and our friend, Becca is hanging out with us once again until she returns.

”Photobucket”border=”0

Our Spotlight Dancer is...Corrine from Corrine's Corner

We are starting out the month with a theme this week and one I do not think we have done before. Let's see what "Southern Rock" you have in your play list this week.

First up for me is from the Kentucky Head Hunters. I love the guitar work!

Next is actually a little slow down but is a bit of nostalgia for me as it was my graduating class song. Hail to Lynrd Skynyrd!

Finally, I am going to go with this group who has always been a favorite. Alabama...

Sunday Sayings...June

A love note to June from Johnny Cash
