Hello everyone and welcome back to Monday's Music Moves Me. Somehow we have moved right on into February without a blink of an eye. In any case, we are here to dance and play some fantastic tunes. This shin-dig is hosted by Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Colette and myself.
This week is a freebie week. I promised last week that I would post some female singers/bands from the 1980's and that is exactly what I am going to do. Let's go!
First up: This singer was well known in the 1980's for her music and her film appearances. One piece that stands out is her song from 1981, the James Bond movie, For Your Eyes Only. She not only appeared but sang the title piece. A little tid-bit, in her early years, she never considered being a singer.
I give you, Sheena Easton
Next up:
This band was an all female band with the lead singer of Belinda Carlise. The band disbanded in 1985 but still remains one of the most successful bands ever. Here is the Go-Gos most well know song released in 1980.
Finally: This singer won many awards as a country singer beating out the likes of Loretta Lynn and Dolly Parton. She was consistently on the Country music charts for years. She is best know for her role as Sandy in the movie Grease. Several of her songs from the movie still rank on the charts today.
In 1981, Olivia Newton-John release this controversial song that became one of the most well know and hottest song throughout the 1980's.
WARNING NOTE: Although I have no issue posting this song, the song is about sex and if you have little ones, you may not want them to hear it.
That's it for this round of music. Make sure to link 'em up! ~Naila Moon

My former brother-in-law is a member of the National Coast Guard. I think they often are overlooked among our military who help to defend our country. This looks like a great movie and I would be honored to see.
A heroic action-thriller, “The Finest Hours” is the remarkable true story of the most daring rescue mission in the history of the Coast Guard. Presented in Digital 3D™, Real D 3D and IMAX® 3D, the film will transport audiences to the heart of the action, creating a fully-immersive cinematic experience on an epic scale. On February 18, 1952, a massive nor’easter struck New England, pummeling towns along the Eastern seaboard and wreaking havoc on the ships caught in its deadly path, including the SS Pendleton, a T-2 oil tanker bound for Boston, which was literally ripped in half, trapping more than 30 sailors inside its rapidly-sinking stern. As the senior officer on board, first assistant engineer Ray Sybert (Casey Affleck) soon realizes it is up to him to take charge of the frightened crew and inspire the men to set aside their differences and work together to ride out one of the worst storms to ever hit the East Coast. Meanwhile, as word of the disaster reaches the U.S. Coast Guard station in Chatham, Massachusetts, Warrant Officer Daniel Cluff (Eric Bana) orders a daring operation to rescue the stranded men. Despite overwhelming odds, four men, led by Coast Guard Captain Bernie Webber (Chris Pine), set out in a wooden lifeboat with an ill-equipped engine and little, if any, means of navigation, facing frigid temperatures, 60-foot high waves and hurricane-force winds.
Disney’s “The Finest Hours” is the unforgettable story of the Coast Guard’s courageous mission, which is directed by Craig Gillespie and stars: Chris Pine; Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nominee Casey Affleck; Ben Foster; Holliday Grainger; John Ortiz; and Eric Bana. Produced by Jim Whitaker and Dorothy Aufiero, the screenplay is by Oscar® nominee Scott Silver and Oscar nominees Paul Tamasy & Eric Johnson based on the acclaimed non-fiction book of the same name by Casey Sherman and Michael J. Tougias. Doug Merrifield serves as executive producer. “The Finest Hours” storms into U.S. theaters on January 29, 2016 in Digital 3D™, Real D 3D and IMAX® 3D.
It has been a long time since I just blogged because I wanted to...because I needed to write. I got away from my basic need to write for economic reasons in part. However, those reasons have not really panned out as well as I thought they would over the past 2-3 years. I am sure I have probably done something wrong but heck if I can figure it out.
This year is a year of do over for so many reasons. I seriously have got to get it together and find me again. It is easy to lose yourself. Stuff from the end of last year almost broke me in two, yet here I am. Rory from Time Out For Mom and Cathy from Curious as Cathy both spoke about those songs that seem to be the soundtracks of your life. I thought that was interesting to say the least.
I guess if I was to say what mine is like right now, I would have to go with this one...
The song fits in so many ways.
Tamirisc used to make CD's about his life, they were soundtracks of memory for him. I guess I never really understood that until now, but I do get it. You go through life and certain songs are played that just seem to fit you or it reminds you of a certain person or event. Yeah, I get it.
This is certainly a year of do-over for me. For fun, I took the same test Rory took to see what my life theme song might be for this year. Guess what? It kind of fit, well except for the vengeance part. (Note: this was a 2015 test but I just changed the dates)
What’s Your Personal 2016 Theme Song?
You got: Blank Space
Your 2016 anthem is “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift. A year of new possibilities and sweet, sweet vengeance.
So, there it is a new blank space to heal, live, create, write, work, volunteer, do whatever I want to do.
I am starting again with this post. I hope you see more of me again in between the giveaways and usual stuff you have seen in the last year. It is time to get me back and I will!
Tell me in comments what one of your life songs is and why. ~Naila Moon

Hello my musical people! It is I, Naila Moon, here to bring you some rockin' tunes for Monday's Music Moves Me. You know this meme is hosted by that hip chick, Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Colette, and yours truly. Let's boogie, shall we?
This week we have a theme chosen by our spotlight dancer, Sounds Like Life To Me! She chose 1980's music which is right up my alley because I can say, I was an '80's kid! Whoot!
First up: He was the King of the 1980's, none other than Michael Jackson! In this great song of 1983 and #1 hit, he and another familiar face, Sir Paul McCartney sang their second duet. This video also cameo'd two other familiar faces. Can you tell me who they were? :)
Next: This smooth singer just knew how to woo the ladies. In this video he is in love with his student and the suggestion is it was mutual. Hmm...well, I suppose that was not cool, especially today. Even in 1983, it was a bit of an eye opener and caught attention. I give you Lionel Ritchie.
Finally: This group, with singer George Michael, made this hit in 1984 after a note left by one of the bands parents. The song as you might imagine has nothing to do with making sure to check in. *wink* Here is Wham!
Next week is a freebie week. I promise to post female singers next week! ~Naila Moon

The BFG (Mark Rylance), while a giant himself, is a Big Friendly Giant and nothing like the other inhabitants of Giant Country. Standing 24-feet tall with enormous ears and a keen sense of smell, he is endearingly dim-witted and keeps to himself for the most part. Giants like Bloodbottler (Bill Hader) and Fleshlumpeater (Jemaine Clement) on the other hand, are twice as big and at least twice as scary and have been known to eat humans, while the BFG prefers Snozzcumber and Frobscottle. Upon her arrival in Giant Country, Sophie, a precocious 10-year-old girl from London, is initially frightened of the mysterious giant who has brought her to his cave, but soon comes to realize that the BFG is actually quite gentle and charming, and, having never met a giant before, has many questions. The BFG brings Sophie to Dream Country where he collects dreams and sends them to children, teaching her all about the magic and mystery of dreams.
Having both been on their own in the world up until now, their affection for one another quickly grows. But Sophie’s presence in Giant Country has attracted the unwanted attention of the other giants, who have become increasingly more bothersome. Says Spielberg, “It’s a story about friendship, it’s a story about loyalty and protecting your friends and it’s a story that shows that even a little girl can help a big giant solve his biggest problems.” Sophie and the BFG soon depart for London to see the Queen (Penelope Wilton) and warn her of the precarious giant situation, but they must first convince the Queen and her maid, Mary (Rebecca Hall), that giants do indeed exist. Together, they come up with a plan to get rid of the giants once and for all.
Directed by three-time Academy Award® winner Steven Spielberg (“Bridge of Spies,” “Schindler’s List,” ”Saving Private Ryan”) from a screenplay by Melissa Mathison (“E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” “The Black Stallion”) based on the best-selling novel by Roald Dahl, “The BFG” stars three-time Tony Award® and two-time Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance (“Bridge of Spies,” “Wolf Hall”), newcomer Ruby Barnhill, Penelope Wilton (“The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” “Downton Abbey”), Jemaine Clement (“Rio 2,” “The Flight of the Conchords”), Rebecca Hall (“The Gift,” “Iron Man 3”), Rafe Spall (“The Big Short,” “Prometheus”) and Bill Hader (“Inside Out,” “Trainwreck”). The film is produced by Spielberg, Frank Marshall (“Jurassic World,” “The Bourne Ultimatum”) and Sam Mercer (“Snow White and the Huntsman,” “The Sixth Sense”) with Kathleen Kennedy (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Lincoln”), John Madden (“The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel,” “Shakespeare in Love”), Kristie Macosko Krieger (“Bridge of Spies,” “Lincoln”), Michael Siegel (“Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “Rise of the Guardians”), Frank Smith and Naia Cucukov serving as executive producers.
Roald Dahl’s “The BFG” (Big Friendly Giant) was first published in 1982 and has been enchanting readers of all ages ever since. Dahl’s books, which also include “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” “James and the Giant Peach” and “Matilda,” are currently available in 58 languages and have sold over 200 million copies worldwide. Originally created as a bedtime story, “The BFG” was Dahl’s own favorite of all his stories. “It was very important for us to be loyal to the language,” says Spielberg, “and the great writer Melissa Mathison, who also wrote ‘E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,’ wrote ‘The BFG.’”
“The BFG” opens in U.S. theaters on July 1, 2016, the year that marks the 100th anniversary of Dahl’s birth. This will certainly be one to catch!
I just know this movie is going to be cute. Check out the new original song by international superstar Shakira who is lending her Grammy®-winning voice to Gazelle, the biggest pop star in Zootopia.
Watch the brand new music video for Shakira's "Try Everything,”
The all-new original song, “Try Everything,” was written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate.
Director Byron Howard said, "For the role of Gazelle, Zootopia’s most beloved superstar, there was only one person on our wish list: Shakira. Luckily for us, she said yes. Her immense talent and charm bring Gazelle and her song, ‘Try Everything,’ to life.”

* slides in from stage left* I am so late posting music today but I am here now, and that is all that matters right? Why do I only hear crickets?
Anyway, since I am late and you know that I post music on Monday, let's just get right on with it. Shall we?
This week is a freebie music week which is great. Like many of my musical peeps this week, I am sure are lamenting over the loss of David Bowie and as of today, Glenn Frye. Let me also mention, singer, Celine Dion who lost her beloved husband and brother-in-law within a few days of each other.
