F is for Fresh! #atozchallenge

Here we are at the end of the work week on another "F" word, FRIDAY! As I am almost FINISHED with my FIRST week of A-Z blogging, I have another FANTASTIC musical selection FOR you to enjoy.

This go around I am presenting a theme song for you by a then, not-so-well-known, Will Smith. He and his FRIEND Jazzy D not only wrote and sung the theme song to this popular TV show but also appeared in it.

I am talking about, The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Do you remember Will Smith looking like this?

E is for 18. #atozchallenge

I know what you are thinking.

"18" is a number, not a letter. Well, that is true but if you spell out the number you will quickly figure out that the word begins with the letter 'E'. EIGHTEEN + One Direction=EXCELLENT!

See what I did there? Yeah, I know...pathetic! But, One Direction isn't and coupled with my theme of signed songs you get pure awesomeness.

Have fun with this 'E' song.

Do you have a favorite One Direction song or for that matter just a favorite song? Tell me.

D is for Despacito #atozchallenge

Welcome to hump day and the letter 'D'. Today's particular song I have never heard before nor have I heard of the singer (with the exception of Justin Bieber who is on the featured track). However, that is the one thing I love about YouTube is discovering new artist and musical delights.

In this song, despacito means, slowly. The song is essentially about how the singer wants to make love. It is mostly in Spanish but there are English translations if you want to go look for them. ;)

Enjoy the song Despacito!

C is for Cups? #atozchallenge

Hi there! It is Tuesday and I am so glad to "C" ya.   HA HA HA...hum....ok, bad joke.
Anyway, the song I am presenting today became a bit of an earworm when it was first performed. The use of cups for the song was clever and still is for its original intent.

However, it does not quite translate for the deaf community other than seeing people moving around a bunch of cups. Still, the effort is to be noted and the song to be enjoyed. I give you, appropriately named, The Cup Song. By the way, I believe the original title was called When I'm Gone.

B is for...Bohemian! #MondaysMusicMovesMe #atozchallenge

Hello and welcome to "B" day! Today I am switching musical gears from praise and worship to rock. Whew! It is also Monday's Music Moves Me hosted by Xmas Dolly and her co-host, Callie, Stacy, and Cathy. I am filling in for a while. Play along and link up below. The theme for the 4M's is "freebie" week so, that works out pretty well for me.

So being that it is "B" day, I am going with one of my all-time favorite bands, Queen. There are so many variations of the Bohemian Rhapsody song but carrying on with my A-Z theme, this time it is in sign language. Enjoy!

What is your favorite 'B' song? Tell me in comments.

So, It Begins! "A" is for ALIVE!

Welcome to the first day of the April A-Z Challenge! No foolin'!

As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago, for this challenge I was going to do a daily post of music with a twist. All the songs I post will be in sign language.  There will be a variety of music. Don't worry, for you non-sign language folks, you will still be able to hear the music too but I ask you to enjoy the beauty of ASL.

Before I get to the letter "A", I want to wish all of you that celebrate, Happy Easter!

Now, for my first letter and musical selection of the month and very appropriate for this special day.
The singer is Natalie Grant of whom I have never heard before. Enjoy!

Leave me a comment below so I can come see what you are doing. What genre of a song would you like to hear/see?

Monday's Music Moves Me...Names of Places! #IGiveSparkles #MondaysMusicMovesMe #music

Hey, happy Monday evening! I am here to rock some tunes late in the evening with you. I am stepping in and co-hosting for a bit while Callie is out. I hear our other 4M co-host are in limbo too but that does not be we won't be with you eventually. Then, of course, there is our hostess of the mostess Marie, aka Xmas Dolly, who is holding down the fort as always.

Before I get to the music, I have a Spark for you!

~Ronald Dahl

So, I understand we have a spotlight dancer this week, Ellen, who picked a cool theme.  She has picked "Names of Places"!  Example:  Cities, States, places you go or seen... get the idea?  Thanks, Ellen great idea!!!

Let me see...hmm...

First up: This is maybe not exactly what she had in mind but it certainly the first song I have in mind. Let's rock it, shall we?

Next up: I love to travel and go places. Japan is a place I would like to go and see some day. Best yet, I have a friend that lives there! This artist is new to me but I love his vibe.

Next: I am pretty sure I would not do a Safari unless it was strictly photography. However, if I was, I would certainly do it in this place!

One more? Why not!
Finally: As many of you know, I lived in Denver for a few years. I actually miss Colorado as much as I miss my home state of Missouri. I feel no one could sing better about Colorado than John Denver.

Make sure to link up and play along. Peace out...Michelle aka Naila Moon
