Hey, Hey! Will you be doing the April A-Z Challenge too?

Tomorrow begins the annual A-Z Challenge. This year, I will be here posting music again, all month long. You might find country, religious, alternative, jazz, and certainly rock!
Just a note you might come by when you would normally see my normal stuff, keep looking please! Mondays of course, you will get to hang out with the Monday's Music Moves Me gals that I co-host every week.

I will try to get around to as many people as possible but with nearly 2000 people participating, that is not feasible to get to everyone.  In any case, I do hope you will stop here at least once or twice during the month and say hello. Yes, let me know you are here and I will come visit.

Happy April everyone!

PS>Please stop at my other blog too, Reading Authors, where I have decided to do music postings again!

Monday's Music Moves Me...Theme: All About You (Me)

Hello my musical friends. We are on the last Monday of March and heading quickly to April. Time is flying by and I have yet to catch up.

I am still in MO as my husband recovers from heart surgery. My daughter landed herself in the hospital too this past week. I need a vacation I think!

Anyway, it is time for music and that is just what the doctor ordered! We have a theme this week picked by our Spotlight Dancer, Patrick. He asked us to come up with 5 songs that are all about us. That is a load of songs that I usually do not do but hey, he is the Spotlighter and that is what he asked. So, let's see what I can come up with.

First up...
So, I guess I will start with where I was born.

Next: I was a single Mom of two for years but raised others and many called me Mom. Teen years...yeah.

Next:  For many years I was a volunteer youth pastor. This took me to Rome of which this singer sang the main theme for the World Youth Day.

Next: I have traveled all over the U.S. and three countries. I have been to some states several times. I love to travel and still would if I could.

Finally: Since everything from this point forward is open to me, I look forward to the new. Of course, I am also the self proclaimed Supreme Leader of the Known Universe so, the world has to be mine! *wink*

Monday's Music Moves Me...We Got Awarded! #MWA #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hey, hey, welcome back to Monday and another week of Monday's Music Moves Me. We are moving fast through the month of March which amazes me to know end. It seems like the older I get the faster time flies. Why is that?

Anyway, this week we have no theme which means I get to spin some tunes that I would like for you to hear. However, as it turns out, two weeks ago one among us, John, nominated the whole 4M Crew for an award.

The Music and Words Award was started by a lady that goes by Miss Andi to celebrate people who  post and write about music. I think that fits us, don't you? Needless to say, this will be a little different "freebie" post.

So of course there are rules by accepting this sort of award...wait, do I get a music note or something to put on my shelf? Do I get to give a speech?

 I digress...the rules...

Once accepted, the award process has five steps:
  1. Link back to the person who nominated you
  2. Answer the questions with words AND music
  3. Pass the award on to 5 bloggers who inspire you with their posts about music
  4. Tag your post with #MWA, for Music&Words Award so that we can all find you down the line
  5. Quote these 5 steps and the award icon in your post. You can display the icon on your sidebar as well.

Now, the music...

Q1: What does music mean to you?

I have always loved music ever since I can remember it was a part of me as much as books were. Growing up my parents had a whole room dedicated to books and music. I cannot say I live and breathe music but music has helped throughout the years to relate through emotions. Music touches my heart and soul in so many different ways.

I grew up knowing not just one genre, my family's tastes in music was varied and that made me love all music. I do have my favorites though.

When I went deaf, I mourned the loss of not being able to hear music. I am grateful that I regained 5% of my hearing because it was just enough to hear the music I so love.

Q2: What is your first music related memory?

Like I said above, I grew up with music in the house. My Dad was actually a (former) piano player who played in clubs. Only one time in my life did I ever him actually play. He would never play the piano because years before I was born, he broke his fingers in a car wreck, he said he would never play again. Yet, one day, we were at a friends house who had a baby grand. I thought the owner was playing the piano so I went in to listen, as it turns out, it was my Dad. He never knew I heard him. It was such a gift for me.

My Dad also liked opera but that is a story for another time.

I guess this isn't a first memory because I have many prior to this but this is the one that popped into my head so, I am going with it. ;)

Q3: What is the first album your purchased yourself?

It has been many years since I purchased an album for myself, so, it is hard to remember but I suppose it probably was one of three: The Monkees, Michael Jackson, or Prince (I had all of the versions of albums for all of these artist).

Q4: What is the latest music you purchased (cash purchase no download or online streaming)?

Hmm...this is a good question and a tough-y too. In the last year or sothe husband and I had been purchasing music albums from a thrift store to build a new collection. We would purchase anywhere between 7-9 albums at a time. We bought across the genres.

Let's go with...( I know we purchased an album by this singer but not sure it is this one.)

Q5: Which song did you listen to last (no cheating, spill it!)

Actually, while I was writing this blog post, I was listening to this singer.

Whew...ok, the my nominees are...

Cathy from Curious as Cathy, Alex J Cavanuagh, Be There 2 DayCreate With Joy, and Patrick from Weaseland

Guitar Solos on Monday;s Music Moves Me

Hey everybody, here is hoping you are having a fantabulous start of the week or at least had a great weekend.

My weekend was fun as I went to our local St. Pat's Day Parade and get-together. Tons of people showed up and the green was everywhere. Today is a whole different day as I am back in MO on a temporary emergency run. My husband is having open heart surgery after having a heart attack earlier in the week. Needless to say, this post is going to be a quick hit and run.

So our theme this week is solo guitar picked by the Ninja himself, Alex Cavanugh. Let's rock this joint!

Three Day Quote Challenge: The Past #quotes #BruceSpringsteen

Every once in awhile, I like to take up a challenge or two to keep my mind and things fresh. My blogging buddy, Cathy challenged me to a three day quote challenge.  I like quotes, so, I thought why not! Thanks, Cathy!

Here is the rules to this thing...you know, there are always rules.

So, the quote...

Recently, I came across a person I knew years ago that I had a relationship with. No, I will not share the name to protect families. Anyway, we had dated for a number of years and broke up with a sad ending. I had always wondered what had happened to him and where his life took him. Now, I know.

The fact of the matter is, my past with him is just that, the past. I do not know where life would have been if I was still with him here in the present but I know, you cannot change it.

So, what do you do? Live with it! You live with all those wonderful memories and you move forward. You learn that things don't always turn out the way you thought they might but maybe they turned out even better for you. You learn that a relationship with this person just was not meant to be but you also learn that maybe friendship can be in the here and now.

I like that.

Make sure you come back tomorrow and see what quote is on my mind. I am challenging, my musical blog buddy, Stacy from Stacy Uncorked. Leave me a comment if you would. I would like to know what you are thinking.

Monday's Music Moves Me...Freebie Week #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hey all, we are back with another Monday's Music Moves Me for you all to rock out with and have a good time. This week is a freebie week so that means share the music you love or are loving right now.

Here in Arizona it rained yesterday and the wind has been fierce today. In a way, I kind of like it and it has inspired me a bit for some music I want to share with you. Let's go...

First up: This guy has been one of my favorite singers for years. I love almost everything he has ever produced including this one.

Next: In the past few months, I have had a lot of changes in my life. In fact, here in the U.S. there is a lot of change going on. This song talks about change in the wind. Think about that a moment.

Last: This is such a classic. How could I not include it. It is deep as far as emotion goes, another thought provoker.

Have a good week...Naila Moon

#Review: Live Infinitely Muscle Stick Roller #liveinfinitely

I had previously reviewed a different massage stick and I can honestly say, this one is comparable. I do think this one is a little longer than the other one though, which is nice.

The rollers on this stick are larger and manage to get a larger space on tight muscles. The roll fairly smoothly. The end handles are slightly grooved for a tight grip as you roll the stick over the length of your muscles. That is a plus in my mind because you certainly do not want to hit someone who is already hurting.

You can easily roll this by yourself or with someone doing it for you. There is not much strength needed to get the deep tissue massage that the company says you will get. I like that a lot!

The only thing I think I might have liked is little spiky things you often see in massage balls. They seems to really help with loosing up things.
Overall, this is a really nice muscle stick and worth getting and feeling ahhhh!

Disclosure: I received this item in exchange for my open and honest opinion. The views expressed here are 100% my own and may differ from yours. ~Naila Moon
