Wordless (ish) Wednesday... Aunt M. 1/30/2013

This is a photo I took this past Summer of my favorite aunt, Aunt M. . She is holding one of her dogs, Bibbi.
I told her that it was sad that she was wearing the cone of shame.

My Aunt replied, " She is not! She is on temporary medical disability."

That made me laugh so hard!

*H

*Housekeepers

I often went to my Grandma's house to stay the night when I was little.  During those years my Grandma had a housekeeper. I do not remember what her name was at all but I do remember she was a very friendly lady.

She was never bothered at all that there was this little girl under foot and always asking her questions. No, in fact, she often would stop her work to talk with me and make me paper dolls.  I was so fascinated with them...that is, how she made them.  She would carefully show me how she would make them and then let me try.  Of course I was terrible at first but as time went by, I learned to make them without any trouble.

Another significant housekeeper I remember having in my life was when I was about 7 years old. I remember her name which is Marcia.

My Mom had hired Marcia to take care of our household and babysit us because she was going to have back surgery and was going to need some help.  Marcia was all of 18 when she came to take care of us.  She was kind and had a load of Barbies that she would let me play with.

As it turns out, my Uncle had just come back from the Navy to visit my Mom, he took one look at Marcia, asked my Mom who she was, and the rest is history because now Marcia, our former housekeeper, is now my aunt.
(The following video is of my aunt with my grand-baby.)
