Day 31...It's here! The soul.

Hello my dear Ghouls and Boils. It's here, it's here, Halloween!

Halloween was originally spelled Hallow E'en meaning the day before All Hallows Day (Nov. 1st). This was a day to celebrate the ancestors that came before us.

What happens after with pass from this plain of existence has been debated for centuries. Most agree that we all have a soul that passes on.

The soul is a curious thing. How the soul lives on is up for debate too. How we see our soul is a question of perspective.
A few years ago a curator in England wanted to see just what people thought their soul looked like and had everyone draw it in black and white. The drawings where eventually published in a book called Soul.

I drew what I think my soul might look like. I will say this, I think depending on what state of mind we are in depends what our soul might look to us at any time.

What does your soul look like? Draw it for me. While you are doing that listen to this fantastic track...the soul in music.

Happy Halloween everyone!

Meet Me Monday-May 16th and Music Moves Me

It's that time again when you get to "Meet Me" through Java's Never Growning Old. The site where the questions are asked and I answer them. If that isn't enough, then you can groove and move with me right after (aka the bottom of the page) as I dance with Xmas Dolly's Music the Moves Me.
Peace...Naila Moon

1.  Crunchy or smooth peanut butter?
Without a doubt I like this kind (not necessarily the brand) with grape jelly!

2.  What is your favorite color Rose?

Hands down my favorite is red. I did however receive pink on Mother's Day from my children because pink is my favorite color.

3.  Do you remove your shoes when you walk into your home?

Growing up, my Mother always insisted we take off our shoes at the door (including guest). So yes, I do take off my ruby reds (or ruby flip flops ta-hee) at the door.

4.  What is your favorite season?
I like both of these quite equally.

Spring

Fall

5.  Approximately how many hours a day do you spend blogging?

I have to admit that reggae music is not my favorite genre but since this was the theme this week I looked for something I may like. I came across the singer, Matisyahu, who touts himself as the Jewish Reggae singer.
What I found was an awesome singer whose music does move me. This video I found is awesome and says so much. Enjoy!

Monday's Music & Meet Me Monday

This week for Monday's Music, hosted by the very nice lady at Xmas Dolly, is the theme of weather or colors. Well, since I was being crazy with the weather in my last post, ( you can go HERE to see that one) I picked colors.

I have always like the character in the video I picked. His voice is great and he always sings the best songs. Enjoy! :)

Now on to Meet Me Monday hosted by the lovely, Java:

Questions:

1.  What is your favorite kind of muffin?

I do like blueberry muffins but my favorite is...

2.  What was the first car you ever owned?

Technically, the first car I owned was a Ford Fiesta like this one. I co-owned it with my Mom. It was also a stick shift.

However, the first car I truly owned on my own was this Chevy Cavalier that I called "Freedom". My son wrecked it not two months after I bought her. sigh....

3.  Which TV Show were you sad to see end?

Side note: Did you know that the actor, John Dye, that played the Angel of Death, died in January of heart failure?

4.  What is your lucky number?

5.  Pretzels or Potato Chips?

I not only like potato chips better but I like this particular kind.

 Peace....Naila Moon

Project 52-Dancing in the Rain

We have had soooooooo much rain here that we are flooding in parts. I had been attempting to get back to my 52 projects/goals that I set for myself this year. As dancing in the rain was one of them...well, just take a look. I only wished that Tamirisc had danced with me.  Have you danced lately?

Soothing the soul baby style

One of the many pleasures of moving back home is getting my baby time. I am babysitting twice a week just enjoying everything being Grandma has to offer.

Even though my grand-daughter is a few months past 1 year old, I thought it important for us to create a play space for her in our small apartment.  I remember my Grandma had that for all of her grand-children and it is a nice memory for me and I want to make a memory for her. (and subsequent grand-children ?)

So, Tamirisc and I have a box full of toys and books which is of course at her level to dump and play in as she wishes.  This area is surrounded by some of my puppets and stuffed animals of (uh-hmm- cough) my younger days.

She played hard and we enjoyed our time together but then I think the jazz music I had playing soothed her soul because she finally went to sleep.

It really was one lovely day. I look forward to many more!

Peace...Naila Moon
