Monday's Music Moves Me & Aww Monday's: Valentine's Day or Love Songs

Hello again my musically inclined friends. This week (and a week early I might add) is the theme,Valentine's Day or Love songs. Honestly, I think we are up for interpretation here. I say, do what makes you happy and go for it! *laughs*

Let me see what I have got for you. Link up below.

First up:

When I saw the theme for the week, this is the song that popped in my mind. Head on down to the place and boogie with the B-52's.

Next up:
This song has been going through my brain for a couple of weeks now. I loved Whitney and Kevin (yeah, I am on a first name basis) in this movie. Their "love story" was beautiful.

Next:
This song by John Legend tells the tale of his wife and how he loves her. It is such a beautiful song of love from this artist.

Bonus song:
This next song is from the Greatest Showman. It is a song of forbidden love trying to find its way. I love the song but also the acting from it too. Zac Efron has come along way since the High School Musical days.

Monday's Music Moves Me & Aww Mondays: Freebie Week

It has been a long time since I posted to this blog and also did Monday's Music Moves Me. Since it is 2023,and oh my goodness, almost February, I suppose doing something fresh is a good idea.

I am glad it is a freebie week because it gives me some time to post music that I like to hear but hopefully, you will too.

Hmm...well, let's start with this:

These guys were spot on in the 1980's. I think all of these years later, they still do.

Next up:

Finally: Let there be always....

#Music: Monday's Music Moves Me, Your Choice

I am certainly late for Monday's Music but that is okay because the day is not over. Speaking of over, where did January go? Wow!

Anyway, this is freebie week or pick your own sans theme week. I think I have some picks out of the ole brain here. This will be eclectic in nature this time around.

First up: I love this first artist. She grew up in the Appalachian Mountains of Tennessee and has helped many people from the area. She is flashy but down to earth. Her music has touched millions, but she is also a known actress and now author. I am talking none other than Dolly Parton!

Next up: By now, we have all heard of the big music shake up on Spotify. For the record, I have not subscribed to the streaming channel, but many people do. I can appreciate the many artists that are running and pulling their hard work. In any case, it started with this popular artist. I love his music. So, it is fitting for me to post this piece from Neil Young.

Usually, I would post another song to listen to, but this seems to be it for me. Make sure to link up your music and enjoy other's selections.

Monday's Music Moves Me...Compliments #music

Hello, my fellow musical enthusiast. I had really meant to come back to the 4M's before now. I suppose I am trying to ease myself in again. I don't know.

Anyway, the hostess for this month has been our own Cathy from Curious as a Cathy. She has proposed an interesting theme this time around which is:

The theme this week is in honor of National Compliment Day. Pick songs that offer a nice compliment to your readers or dance partners

Hmm...well, let's get on with it shall we? ~Michelle

First up: This first one is an oldie but a goodie. Here the musician is complimenting a girl he has in his class. Now, I understand the whole teacher/student relationship thing but this is still beautiful.

Second up: When I think of this theme, I cannot help but to think of this song that the musician wrote for his wife which he danced with in the video.

Lastly: I just watched this movie the other night and it was great. If you have not seen it, you should. But I digress, in this song, the main character, Maribel, loves her family and compliments each one on their "gifts". *Spoiler* I felt sad for her at the end of this song.

Monday's Music Moves Me..."J" Quote #atozchallenge #Monday'sMusicMovesme

If you are here from the A to Z Challenge...here is my quote of the day. Please stay for the music too.

I'm getting late on the music train today but better late than never. This month's special co-host has made this request for today's theme.  They say April showers bring May flowers, so make it rain people!  Be creative about where your source of moisture comes from.

So, I was thinking about this...especially the creative part. To get to April and May we have to go through the winter months first. Sometimes, it is hard to get through, but when we do, we can get home.

I heard this song just today. Ok, so maybe it does not fit the theme entirely but I had to share it anyway.

Next: This next song is all about rain. In fact the movie from the song title is all about dancing in it. It is a favorite of mine.

Finally: I would totally be amiss if I did not  say that I like my rain...purple!  This version of Prince's classic is just as amazing!

Then of course...there is the original! Which do you like better?

Sing it loud my friends!
Michelle

D...#atozchallenge #mondaysmusicmovesme

Hope you all had a great Easter. It is Monday which means two things: The A-Z challenge is now on "D" and it is Monday's Music. Whoo hoo. The music is a freebie day which is a good thing for me.

First the quote.

D: "Don't wait for someone to bring you flowers. Plant your own garden and decorate your own soul." - Luther Burbank

Now the music:

Monday's #Music Moves Me...Freebie Week

Hello my friends and welcome to Monday's Music Moves Me. All this month our very own Cathy is co-hosting. However, today is a freebie day so I get to choose. Let's get started. Make sure you sign the linky below. ~Michelle

Since it is Labor Day here in the states, I thought I would start with an oldie from Loretta Lynn who sang about being a "Coal Miner's Daughter".

Next up: This next one could almost be dedicated to the workers who lost their jobs this year since the pandemic started. It was no different back when Bing sang about being in the food lines or begging for a dime.

Finally: Dolly Parton sang it well in the movie and boy does it hold up.

Monday's Music Moves Me...Free Week

Hello to all of my musical peeps. I am back this week with some fun tunes to spin for you as we all hit the dance floor.

Of course we know the 4M's is hosted by the musical conductor, Xmas Dolly. She has a few co-conductors: Stacy, Alana, and Cathy who help get us rollin' along for the week.

This month, Alana has picked the tunes and this week is a freebie week. Let's see what I have in my bag for you today.

First up: Since we are rollin' let's start out with this tune. This duo actually sings two songs in this clip but I find the whole scene comical as is the whole movie. I give you, The Blues Brothers.

Next: I just love this singer voice with this song. Adele has such a powerful voice and her stories musically are just as powerful. I am presenting to you her song Rolling In the Deep but in an unusual way.

Final:This singer is fairly new to me as is this song but I love her energy and the song. I present to you, Lauren Daigle in, "Still Rolling Stones"

Make sure you sign up.

Musically yours~Michelle

Monday's Music Moves Me...Freebie #music

Somewhere in this vast blogsphere a bit of my brain broke away and floated out to the universe. There in that tiny bit was the fact that I was supposed to have posted Monday's Music. When the light came back on, it was then Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. I am sorry and hope to make it up to you this week.

This is the last week of my co-hosting duties and it is probably a good thing. Anyway, this week is a freebie week which means you get to annoy  bless everyone with the kind of music you want to hear. Do not forget to sign the linky and visit.

Hmm...well, since last week was supposed to be music around the world, I thought I would start with that.

First up:
This first song is quite familiar but as it goes on it becomes a collaboration all over the world. Enjoy this version of "Sitting On the Dock of the Bay"

Next up:
This next song is familiar as well and will make you "Be Happy". Enjoy this version from around the world.

Next up:
I am going to slow things down just for a moment as you listen to this next singer (new to me). His song brought not only tears to me, but left Simon Cowl speechless and in tears!

Finally:
I am going to switch some gears here but keep the music rolling along with the totally incomparable Tina Turner!

Have a great week ya all.
Musically yours,
Michelle

Monday's Music Moves Me...The Very Late Edition

Hey ya all. As you can see, I am VERY late to the dance floor today. Blogger was messing up for me and then YouTube decided not to cooperate either. I hope you are still around to dance.

If you want to fire me as co-hostess, that is okay by me too. I would deserve it. lol

So, it is freebie week and I only have two songs rolling around in the brain. Enjoy!

Monday's Music Moves Me...Song With "J" #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hey, I am back as co-host for the 4M's.
First an apology, I did not get around to anyone this last week. With all the things that have been happening, my mind was not here. I hope you will forgive me and we can leave it at that. I will do better.

Moving forward, this week I chose the theme: Songs that begin with the letter "J". So, without further blabbing, I present to you this weeks selection. Make sure you sign the linky.

Musically yours,
Michelle

First up: I loved the Pointer Sisters when they were in their heyday. This is the first song I thought of for the theme.

Next up:
Since we are already jumping we might as well jump some more with the Rolling Stones.

Finally: I loved John Lennon when he was with the Beatles and I loved him as an independent artist.
Let's start over.

Hey there...you remember me? Yeah! I have been gone a long time taking care of grand kids and being away from home. Then of course this whole virus thing that put a crick in everyone's plans. Who knew the first half of 2020 would be so dang crazy.

So, let's start the second half of the year with some rockin' music. I am your co-host this month with those fabulous ladies: Xmas Dolly, Cathy, Stacy, and Alana. Whoo hoo!

Don't forget to sign up!

Musically yours,

First up: This is a group from 1993 that I have never heard of but the song is familiar.
Mr. Big with "Wild World"

Next up: This next song is from the theme from the movie Wild Wild West. It a sung by a quite familiar singer/actor, Will Smith, featuring Dru Hill and Kool Mo Dee. The video also features another prominent singer but I will let you catch who that is.

Finally: I cannot pass up today's "theme" without sharing The Troggs. They are all about "Wild Thing".

Monday's Music Moves Me...Freebie Week #music

Hey ya all,

This is the last week that I am co-hosting for a bit again. It has been fun to do.
This is also to be a quick posting for me because, by the time you read this post, I will have landed in the Midwest for a bit.
I am off again to be with my family there and get some hugs and kisses from my precious grandkids.

So having said that, make sure you link up the music and spin the tunes. It is freebie week and that is always fun to see what everyone comes up with.

Let's go...

First up: How about some John Denver!

Next up: Jeffrey Osbourne

Finally: Frank Sinatra

#MondaysMusicMovesMe Theme: Tenative #music

Hey everyone! It's Monday's Music Moves Me once again. Whew, once again, this week went fast. I cannot believe it is even mid-January. Before we know it, we will be looking into February.

I am honorary co-host this week for the best musical extravaganza on Monday. We start our week partying out loud and spinning some tunes to dance or sing-along to. Make sure to go by and say hello to everyone and give a high five to those musical co-host. We have Marie aka Xmas Dolly, the brain-child for this whole shin-dig. Then there is Cathy who gets all of the kitties dancing. Stacy who tends to pop open a bottle of wine and gets down with some country. And to round it out, we have Alan who is always up for music in the mix.

This week I chose a challenging theme which is "Tentative". To be honest I am not sure what I was thinking but we shall see what I can flesh out. Come on, let's go!

ten·ta·tive

1. Not fully worked out, concluded, or agreed on; provisional: tentative plans.
2. Indicating a lack of confidence or certainty; hesitant: tentative steps toward the podium.

First Up: I love Peter Hollens voice and the music he sings. As with many of his songs, he matches up with other incredible singers. This one features Tim Foust who gives a little country flair to this popular song.

Next up: This song and band sing about how angels among us help us when we aren't sure or are in need.

Finally: This next song is sung by John Legend, feature the singer Common, whom I have come to love. They sing about freedom and that fighting for freedom to be who you are is not over.

Make sure you link up and have a great week. I will be around later.

Musically yours,
Michelle

#MondaysMusicMovesMe Freebie Week/Celebrating!

Hey everyone! It's Monday's Music Moves Me once again. Whew, the week went fast. I cannot believe it is even mid-January. So, yesterday was my birthday and of course I would like to celebrate it with you all. I am not sure how that is supposed to look but, YAY!

This week we have a freebie week which means of course, I spin whatever tunes I would like you to hear. Let's not waste anymore time with my dribble and let's get to it. Shall we?

First up: I love the singer, Pink. She tells it like it is and is also a terrific mom. This song is about celebrating life.

Next up: This next song by Taylor Swift is about growing up. I know full well that there are somethings that I wished I could do when I was still little. I suppose that is the nature of growing up and looking back on the years.

Finally: This next singer and song are both new to me. However, he talks about it "being good to be alive" and ya know what? It is?! He talks about how he was almost lost to the world and I think we can all relate to that too. But dang...it is still good!

Make sure to sign up on the linky and enjoy our weekly musical party. I will try to be around later to see you!

Peace and musically yours,
Michelle

Happy Monday's Music Moves Me New Year 2020! #MondaysMusicMovesMe

Hello my dear readers and Happy New Year!

As I stated a couple of weeks ago, I would slowly revamping and working to make this blog special.
I also said that I would be the first co-host for 2020 with the gals at Monday's Music Moves Me.

Do you know them? Let me introduce if you are new here. We have Marie aka Xmas Dolly who is the head engineer. Then there is Cathy with her mewsical kittens. There is Stacy who is always inclined to pop a cork or two of her award winning wine. And of course, we cannot forget Alana who thinks chocolate is another food group.

ONE QUICK NOTE: You may have read that Cathy is returning the linky to Monday and not posting on Sunday. She will be posting something inspirational on Sundays instead. I am not sure if this is a collective decision among the 4M gals but I will be following suit. After this week, my link will not appear until Mondays. This seems more consistent for blogging.

So, here I am and ready to rock and roll into the new year. I have decided that the first theme of the year should be "Beginnings". Now, I had questions about this one as it seemed to be a hard one. Well, put on your thinking caps and let's go! The topic is broad and can mean many things.

First up: A new year and new beginning is cause for celebration!

Next up: This song is about being bogged down with all that life has thrown at the singer but he has been lifted up by God and has a new beginning.

Finally: Everyday when we wake up it should be cause for celebration of a brand new day. This song gives homage to every day new beginnings.

Happy musical day to you my friends. Make sure to link up below.

Day 14: Monday's Music Moves (Booooos) Me #Halloween #music #CryptKeeper #mondaysmusicmovesme

Add caption

Hello Boils and Ghouls,

It is Monday and that means Xmas Dolly (also a Crypt Keeper) and her 4M crew are spinning some fabulous tunes. They have a theme this time which is: Going on a journey. Make sure you link up below. I will now attempt to incorporate that into Halloween style.

This week I am paying homage to those blood-sucking, creatures of the night, vampires. They do loads of traveling over the course of days, years, decades, and centuries. Let' see what I have to take a bite out of this Monday's music.

Copyright to this Crypt Keeper

First up: This upbeat tune is new to me but definitely of the ghoulish side of vamps.

Next: Also a new group to me but I love their sound.

Finally: This last song is also new to me but the driving beat is awesome to hear.

Your Crypt Keeper,
Michelle

Whoot!!!! Freebie Week on Monday's Music Moves Me! #MondaysMusicMovesMe @xmasdolly @RandomCoolChick @ETNHome @BakngInATornado

Doesn't if figure I am late to the dance floor AGAIN! You would think I was busy with life or something. Ah well, I am here and ready to boogie even if I am solo. Ha!

Make sure you follow our hostess and visit everyone. It makes it fun that way.

Enough of the blah, blah, blah....let's get to it. Whoot, it's a freebie week!

First up: I usually try to post a peppier song to start off but this song I found just spoke to me so loudly that I have to share it first. This is actually a redo song by the same group who added Dolly Parton to the mix. The song is incredible! The original song (as this one is) was made to show to never give up.
The original brought up the subject of suicide. BEFORE GOING FURTHER...IF YOU NEED HELP>>>THE HOTLINE IS ON MY SIDE BAR>>>PLEASE CALL!

Next up: Something a little more upbeat. This song is new to me but certainly not the singer. I have a feeling about this one. *wink*

Finally: I want to end on a high note so let's go with this one.

Freebie Week on Monday's Music Moves Me #MondaysMusicMovesMe @xmasdolly @RandomCoolChick @ETNHome @BakngInATornado

I am so, so late for the Monday's Music Train. I swear, one of these days they are going to boot me right out the train door. LOL Until then, let's rock and dance with the ladies of 4M's...Xmas Dolly (the engineer), Stacy, Cathy, and Alana who help keep things humming.

This week is a freebie week so let's get to it.

First up: This week, I discovered some more music by Avi Kaplan. He was the original base singer for Penatonix. The song I want to share has been drumming in my head since last week!

Next: Since I mentioned Penatonix, I wanted to share one of the songs they covered for the original contest they won. Marvin Gaye would have been thrilled!

Finally, since I mentioned Marvin Gaye, I will just finish up with this song. One of my favorites.

Have a great musical week!
Michelle

Monday's Music Moves Me....Freebie Week! Yay! #MondaysMusicMovesMe

It is freebie week on Monday's Music Moves Me hosted by Xmas Dolly with the music train of  Cathy, Stacy, and Alana.

Hop aboard and let's get dancing! This week is a freebie week and I am just going to get right to it. No gibberish here....LOL

First up: How about a little 80's music with Asia.

Next up: I am feeling like some Billy Idol. How about you?

Finally: I have not heard Mr. Mister in a long time. I just have to share this today.

Link up and have a good week and thanks for dancing with me.
Michelle
