The Last 4M's for 2012

Hello my friends. Welcome to the last Monday of 2012. It has been quite a ride this year and I for one am glad to move forward in to 2013.

Since today is Monday that of course means one last Mondays Music Moves Me 2012. This weeks Spotlight Dancer is Father Time! Boogie on outta here!

You know I always have some goodies for you so, let's get to it!

This whole month I paid homage to not only Christmas but other holidays of December.  I have the last two to share with you.

Kwanzaa takes place this year Dec. 26-Jan.1 I found a beautiful song for the holiday that speaks of one of the tenants. I hope you like it as much as I do! First up...

Boxing Day happens on Dec. 26th each year. I was going to post a song for Boxing Day but the only one I could find was kind of depressing so, I am moving on. Ok?

As you already know 2013 is literally around the corner. So my next to offerings are in celebration of that. (By the way, the Pink Song is not the "clean" version so be cautioned if you have young children)

Happy New Year everyone! Thanks for following me and playing along with my ramblings.

There is some great stuff coming in 2013. Check back often!

Peace...Naila Moon

Innovative Online Book Tour...Untimed by Andy Gavin

Hello my friends.
Did you know that I am a book tour host for a company called Innovative Online Book Tours? No? Well, I am! You can find the nice blue button down on the left side of my blog. See it? Good!

If you would like to join them you can click on the button or go HERE. You can also see what I am currently reading in the Goodreads button right below that.  The first book on the list will be the one that I am on tour with and reviewing for Amazon and Goodreads.  Which brings me too...

Untimed is a Young Adult fantasy book written by Andy Gavin.

This book follows Charlie, a 14 year old, history buff, Philadelphia raised boy, whom everyone seems not to notice. His own mother cannot remember his name and his father seems to be more absent than home.

This all changes a few days before his birthday when the police knock on his front door, just as a visit from his Dad is going to reveal something important. However, this is just not any old police! This is a clockworks man known later as Tick-Tocks or Tocks for short who is out to kill Charlie.

Charlie manages to escape the first attempt of assassination when he follows the Tock down a hole that seems to appear from nowhere. They both land in London 1725 where the rules of time seem to change. Charlie  meets Yvaine, a girl of the streets, who is a master pickpocket and a young mother. Her son's father is a well know historical figure. She takes a liking to Charlie.

Charlie soon learns from Yvaine that they are both time travelers and that she has been on her own since she was 7 years old learning how to survive. He also learns that boys can only travel to the past or downtime and girls can only travel to the future or uptime.

Their adventures together take them through history with hostility along the way as the Tocks seem to be just ahead of them changing history as Charlie knows it. Charlie will even meet up with his Dad and Aunt and find out they too are time travelers. The young couple will learn that messing with history and time is not an easy thing to change back. Will Charlie and Yvaine set history straight or will life as it was once known be forever changed?
If you want to read the fantastic book Untimed and find out more about Charlie, Yvaine and those darned trouble some Tick-Tocks, you can buy the book on  HERE or you can try and win your own signed copy HERE. I give this book a thumbs up! A must read!

Disclosure:I received a free copy of the book from the author for my honest opinion.

Project 52...the 2013 Edition...Here I go again!

The last two years I have participated in the Project 52...ummm project? Anyway, this is my alternative to New Year's resolutions! I do not do that because frankly I think everyone breaks them about 20 seconds after midnight, feels bad and then gives up the rest of the year.

Project 52 is the brainchild of Karen and Jennee, or Karen and Jennee are its brainchild, I am not sure which but we will go with the first one. OK? Yeah.  Project 52 allows you to list some goals you want to do for the year and try to achieve them. If you don't well, then you don't and do not feel bad. Instead you feel good for what you did do! I accomplished many of my goals for 2012. Check that out HERE FOR 2012

Quick note before the scheduled t-minus 2 hours MST.

My hubby and I got a surprise present for a trip to see my Mother for Christmas. I have not seen her for 5 months.  That is where I write this message from now.

I am just letting you know between now and about January 8th, I will sparsely be on line but may pre-post. I dunno but I am putting Featured Faces on hold until then.

Just in case though, I should mention that in less than 2 hours the world is supposed to end. As I do not believe a lick of that, I have decided to move in to the closest mansion that leaves and claim all of their stuff. For those of you that do believe, I wish you good luck with all that and nice of you to have followed me up until this point.

For the rest of you, I will see you again at the next go around and thanks for following me as well.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Mondays Music...The Christmas Edition 12/17/12

This week is all about the Big Red Guy himself, Santa. Don't you just love him rocking out with his bad self up there? Ha!  Anyway, this is the third week of the Christmas Edition and I have some goodies for you, I assure you.
However, before I get too far in I want to acknowledge the precious ones that were lost this last week. The country is in turmoil over it and frankly, I am no different.  This little ones are not telling Santa their secrets but instead spending their time with the one who Christmas is all about, the one who welcomes all the children. My first song up is for them.

In Memory:

Now that I most likely have you all in tears, let me give you a break. COLLECTIVE BREATHE HERE

Ok, now on to the rest of my Mondays Music.

Saturday Christmas Silly Cartoons and more...

Tonight's Christmas movie is Frosty the Snowman. So, today is all about snow people.  I have trivia, cartoons and even some pins for you.

1. The term snowman came into existence only sometime between the years 1820-1830. It is not really know who made the first snowman.

2. Even though no one is quite sure, it is possible that the snowman began in Russia as children's response to sightings of the Yeti.

3. The world's tallest snowman built in 2008 was 122ft 1inch. It weighed a whopping 13,000,000 pounds. The snowman was built in Bethel, Maine.
World Record Snowman

4. January 18th is World Day of the Snowman.

Featured Faces and Friendship Friday...12/7/12

Hello one and all. It is late afternoon or early evening here and I am just settling down with my red blanket and watching the Santa Clause. I have seen it a thousand times but it still makes me smile.

Anyway, I am only up for Friendship Friday this week and of course my two Featured Friday Followers. So, on to it.

Friendship Friday

Question of the week is...What are your favorite holiday traditions?

One of my Mother's trees from last year -2011
Well, in the last few years the traditions I have had my entire life have changed because of family changes. However, some of the things we did when I was a kid was we would go to Midnight Mass and then come home and "sleep" for 2 hours only to get up, (there was a whole traditional thing for my parents before they would release us from our room but that is for another time). Once up, we first would light the Advent wreath and the open presents with immediate family. Then we would go to my Grandparents and have Christmas with them and the extended family and have breakfast.  Grandpa would joke there were no presents or he shot Santa or something...Grandma would yell at him to not tell us that stuff. We would then come home and crash. lol

My kids and some of the nieces and nephews a few years ago.

Another thing that my Mother and Dad always did every year was have a Christmas party for family and friends. I will be telling a video story about part of this tradition on Sunday. Until then, I can tell you this was a much look-forward to event every year by anybody that had ever attended.

One of my nieces and a sister-in-law a couple of years ago

There are so many things that our family did traditionally but alas, those things are pretty much non-existent this year. Our family (immediate and extended) is spread out all over the country and even part of the world and life has changed.  I suppose we have to make new traditions.

My silly son, I don't know where he gets it.

Featured Friday
As with every Friday I am introducing two of my followers. If you have been chosen this week grab my Feature Friday button and wear it proudly.  It is over there--->

(You may recognize this gal from some previous post of mine.)
Red aka Debra my red headed "sister"

Go by and tell them hello and that I sent you.

See you all tomorrow for Saturday Silly Christmas Cartoons.

Peace and love,
~Naila Moon

PS. I want to acknowledge that today is Pearl Harbor day. I honor these people who lost their lives in such a surprise attack. Many of the people that did survive are now passing on. However, as long as people like my husband remembers them, they will not be forgotten. Thank you.
