Hey there! Welcome back to another Monday and Monday's Music Moves Me. You know us, Xmas Dolly,the hostess with the mostess, the ever lovely, Colette, the fabulous Stacy and yours truly of course. Stacy decided to take off to Hawaii last week without us (uh hm) so she may not be around but please drop by and say hi to her as all of us.

This week we are going theme again, I know, it usually would be a freebie but please hear me out. This week we are celebrating here in the U.S. Labor Day. It is a day to give homage to our working class who helps us make our country great. Now, I know that we have friends outside of the U.S. so, I say celebrate your working class too. Celebrate what makes your country great!

This week is a freebie week. My hubby started recollecting record albums a couple of years ago and we have been listening to some of the "new" ones he just purchased this past week. (No, I am not old!)

First up: One of my favorite duos: The Carpenters. You do know they were brother and sister, right?
Next up: This duo I loved ever since I was a young kid: The Captain and Tennille. Too bad that they did NOT stay together after so many years.
Next: Kenny Rogers has always been a favorite even before he got into acting. This particular album was of his greatest hits. I like all of the songs on the album but this is the one I am sharing today.
Let's see: There are truly so many albums to choose from but I am going to finish up this week with Linda Ronstadt. This song was written by Hank Williams.

Well, hello and welcome back to Monday. My gosh, I cannot believe we are already half way through the month. How does that happen?
Here we are at another terrific day to push our week off with a great start by posting music, Yes, it is time once again for MONDAYS MUSIC MOVES ME. This of course was said with flair and lots of bright lights.
I am co-hosting this fun shin-dig with our captain, Xmas Dolly and co-host, Becca, Stacy, and Colette. We have a theme for you this week. It is challenging but no doubt, my fellow musical people, you will manage it without a problem.

The only rule is no one can post songs by The Beatles!
As clarification: the band or people have to have the name, not necessarily their songs.

This week they are having a theme which is: Songs that are new to you but just can't get enough of. Whew, long titled theme!
Hmm...let me see what I have in my musical bag.
First: I seriously cannot get enough of this singer. I love his voice and he just oozes sexiness.
Next up: I know this group has been around awhile but I am seriously just now really listening to them and liking their sound!
Next: I cannot get enough of this group. I love everything they sing! The best thing about this particular video is that it also features Lindsey who I also love.
Finally, I recently heard this singer over the holidays. His self made videos are fabulous and the singers he is often paired with makes for unreal music. I am sharing this one featuring Jackie Evancho (whom I also adore) in particular because...well, give a listen!

Hello one and all! It is Monday and that means a new week and more music to be had. If you read my Sunday blog you found out that this week is all about "JOY". It is always with a joyful heart to join the ladies at the 4M's, hosted by Xmas Dolly and her co-host, Cathy, Stacy, Becca, and Colette.
A BIG HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO STACY (who had a b-day last week) AND TO CATHY (her b-day was yesterday)!
I am continuing on with my month long holiday music. This Tuesday my Jewish friends begin the celebration of Hanukkah so my first couple of songs are to be in unison with them as they celebrate!
First up:
I discovered this flash mob/ orchestra. This took place in Chicago. The mash-up of songs is great and to me gives the spirit of the eight days.
Next up:
I love the Maccabeats. This was a new song for Haukkah in 2013. Note the not-so-underlying theme.

The Maccabeats supported an 8 days match donation in 2013, which they encouraged people to not only donate money, but to sign up to be a bone marrow donor. I am in full support of this effort no matter what time of year. My nephew has leukemia as well as my ex-husband. A friend of mine posted this song on Facebook. It was done to celebrate Christmas but it was also done to break a world record. 1000+ people came together to sing and perform this beautiful piece.
I am including it in my post today because it also speaks of great joy.
November is here and we here in the U.S. will be celebrating Thanksgiving in a couple of weeks. My Mom is coming and that will be nice since I have not celebrated this holiday with any extended family in a long time.
Being thankful is something I try to do every day, even if it is just a small thing.

This week we have a freebie week and it seems I am feeling not only grateful but a bit sentimental, so let me see what I have up my sleeve.
I swear to you lately it seems if you blink the days just move by in a flash. Here it is already Monday again and it is November as well. Seriously, where did this year go?
Well, as it is Monday, that means music with the Monday's Music train crew hosted by Xmas Dolly and co-hosted by Stacy, Callie, Cathy, and Becca. I am apparently on hold over for another week as Cathy takes another break.
This week we have a theme which I think will be fun...'60's and 70's music. Now, I know this is a wide berth but a lot of great music came out of this era too.
Let me see what I have up my musical sleeves this week.
First up: 1960's
Discovered by Johnny Cash and signed to his record label they got their chance to make wonderful country music together. Ironically, they are not siblings! This group I have been listening to for years.
This was one of their first hits.
Next:
Originally written in 1964 this song by this duo flopped and caused them to break up. However, it became a quite famous song New Years of 1966 and the came back together and created much more music for the masses to enjoy. This video version was a redo in 2009 when they came together to sing it once again.
Let's move on to the 1970's...
This country singer penned 9 verses of which only 6 made it on the record album. The song was about her life living and growing up in the country. It is one of her most well known and loved hits. The song created a movie about the singer later in the 1980's.
Finally:
During the 1970's having a CB was a must have for all car enthusiast. I remember even chatting up some truck driver at the ripe old age of 8 or something...it was also the age of major truck convoys.
The supposed truck driver in this song was fictitious but the song spurred on a TV show of which I also saw.

Hello there my favorite Boils and Ghouls. It is a beautiful day here in good 'o Colorado. It is also cool and crisp as one would expect at this time of year. Since this is the last week of October we generally expect it to snow some time this week. We shall see.
As it is also Monday, it is time to hit the dance floor with those musical gals at Mondays Music Moves Me. You might not know them, as they are wearing costumes this week, there is Xmas Dolly dressed as conductor, and Cathy, Stacy, Callie, and Becca all dressed as co-conductors. Isn't it crazy how they all coordinated their costumes?
This week is a freebie which delights me because that means I continue on with my Halloween countdown.
Over the weekend, Tamirisc and I went to the Halloween Masked Ball. We hung out with other ghouls, goblins, and ghost. So, this first song seems quite appropriate.
Moving on: Dancing around with other "monsters" is loads of fun when you have good bands!
Finally: One things for sure, when you have that many in one place, you must beware as vampires and some ghost don't mix. *wink* The best things to do is scream..."IT'S ALMOST HALLOWEEN!"

I seemed to have failed miserably at keeping up with my daily Halloween music post. I don't know about that either. Maybe the zombies this weekend ate my brains?
What I do know is we have another "freebie" week which is good so, maybe I can catch up with some spook-tacular Halloween music.
Up first: If you know me at all, you know I sometimes like listening to the old crooners. This guy is one of my favs.
Next up: This guy must have liked Halloween a lot more than was first thought. He has several songs that lends themselves to the holiday. Of course we all know his most famous video. Don't we? Have you heard this one?
Moving on: I offer this one. This singer is new to me. However, I like the beat and the haunting intro to the song.
Finally: This comes directly from one of my more favorite Halloween movies that has become what I think to be a classic. I like the singer of course!

Seriously, I have been missing my music on Mondays but I have been hanging out with a one year old and 4 year old for a couple of weeks.
I am still out and about away from Colorado but I am aiming to get home soon! I thought since I was on a bit of a lull...it is almost 3 AM here...I thought I would hop on the musical train and enjoy the show. Don't forget this musical trip is conducted by Xmas Dolly and her co-conductors, Stacy, Callie, Becca, and Cathy! Whoot!
It just so happens I hit a week that is an odd theme but workable. This week is all about trains! So, I am digging deep on this one and as always things are up for interpretation...right? All aboard!
First up...
This song was a fictional train but became a quite popular song for the artist. The song has been done and re-done by many people including his own wife, June.
Next:
I had to pick this song for a couple of reason. First of all, he is named after one of the cars of the train. It is a name he took on and it stuck with him. His songs are often about the railroad in some form.
Secondly, I loved him sitting around with other country folk and just belting out a tune. This is something I have seen first hand in the "country" and lends itself to good times and special-ness.

Moving on...
This next song is unknown to me from this singer. It speaks of sweet innocence of children when the children in the song ask the singer, "Daddy What's A Train?"
Singer John Denver gives the answers within the song.
There are many songs about riding the rails of the railroad and taking trains. It is almost all gone and something of just shipping items across country. However, for many it was a lifestyle and the trains connected us from one state to another. We should all remember as they do in music.
I would be amiss if I did not include this song but mainly because I am a huge fan.

Hello everybody, it is one hot Monday today. Our air conditioner is still busted so two fans to cool us is not quite doing the job. However, I am not going to complain because at least we have them when others don't.
So, it is 4M's day. You know all of us dancing queens, Xmas Dolly is the head of our fun along with Cathy, Stacy, Callie, Becca and me.
**I do have an announcement though about me. I have decided to step off of my co-hosting duties. I need to be free of a few things and co-hosting is one of them. I may not be gone forever and want to come back next year sometime but for now this has to be. So, as of next week will be my last week of co-hosting.
I will not be gone though. Oh, no! In fact, you will most likely see me every week still just not in the co-host spot.**
Now for the music! This week is a freebie week and I thought maybe I would have a little more fun than normal. I have been seeing a lot of parodies for music lately and thought I would share some.

This week is theme week and it is showing off the ladies of the 60's- 80's. This should be fairly easy but we shall see.
Starting off with the 60's: The Marvelettes were an all American girl group that consisted of school friends, Gladys Horton, Katherine Anderson, Georgeanna Tillman, Juanita Cowart, Georgia Dobbins and Wanda Young. The group eventually became just the three.
Moving on into the 70's: This gal, originally lead singer for the Supremes, broke off on her own in 1970 and never turned back. She made many a song for herself with a solo career. She also happens to be a favorite of mine from the 70's era.
Rounding out this musical day of women we hop into the 80's: As with the 70's there are so many mentionable names that could be dropped. However, the anthem for girls of the 80's came from this gal. As with all women, we are a force to be reckoned with but boy sometimes, we just like to have fun too!
