#Review: YourCover.com...Fake Magazine Covers for Any Occasion

Valentine's Day is coming soon and I, like others, want to get something different for the ones I love. This is not always an easy task because the stores generally have the same things every year to offer.

This year I did come across something unique. I was offered to review a company called Your Cover. The company allows you to make fake magazine covers that feature anyone you want. I made the one above featuring my grand-kids.

It was really not that hard of a process to do. First I had to choose what cover I wanted. The company has a variety of occasions to choose from or even to make your own. Since I wanted a Valentine like cover, that is what I chose. There were about 2-3 for this category and I chose the "Happy Valentine's Day" one. This is the original one I chose but decided to go with the other one.

This photo shows the screen as I worked with the "cover". Each process is numbered which is great because I was less likely to screw it up.

The next part of the process was to upload the photo I wanted to use. Well, this was a no-brainer for me. I will tell you though the photo has to be a certain width. Mine was but if you get the wrong size, your work will not go through. I also decided to flip my photo so that my grandson was on the right.

The buttons on the bottom allowed me to change the background color, all the magazine covers begins with a grey background. I was able to move the photo up or down, and rotate it if I wanted to. All of this gives the users their own unique personalized magazine.

The box on the right allowed me to remove , add, or move the text around. I wanted to make this all about my grand-kids so in the finished product you see that I did a lot. I could even change the colors or the type of fonts if I wanted to.  Personalize, personalize, personalize!

After I was satisfied with what I wanted to do, then I was asked to save for later or upload for purchase. Here is where I got to preview before purchasing. Now, I have to tell you, this is where I got a bit frustrated with the whole thing. For some reason, I was unable to save my work. I ended up re-doing the cover three times. This did not make me very happy but I persevered and finally got it saved. This is a bit of a glitch I think as if you do not have the right photo size it will not allow you to save. I am not sure what the issue was with mine but at least I got it done.  Like I said before, I ended up with this cover.

The final step is to order. The company has a variety of frames, posters and simple downloads you can order. I was allowed to order a walnut frame with this so that was included with an emailed download and a printed copy of my "magazine cover". Simply cute, right?

I did have another glitch at this point but it was an issue with the internet I think more than the businesses website. Even with the couple of glitches, I am happy with the result and I have the perfect gift to give. Then again, I think I am just going to keep this one for myself. I love those two!
