Hello everybody. Amazing that this is the last Monday in July. Kids are going back to school soon which is even more amazing to me. Where did the summer go?
As you know this is also my last day for co-hosting duties but I am not going away. Oh no, I'll be around still just maybe not as often. We will see. Don't forget those other lovely ladies. Our fearless musical leader, Xmas Dolly, and co-hosts, Cathy, Colette, Stacy, and Becca. These ladies rock it with me every week. Make sure to say hello to them and everyone that links up. This is certainly what makes the 4M's fun.
This week we have a theme which is different and challenging at the same time. The theme is: Hometown Bands, Artist, or Songs
Ok, so here I go...
As many of you already know, I am from Missouri. I grew up in a small town about an hour and a half from St. Louis called Farmington. Later, teen years we moved about 45 minutes north of there to Festus so we were now 30 minutes from St. Louis but still in fairly small town.
Of course you know, I transplanted to Denver, Colorado in 2008 but, I also lived south of San Diego and for a time, in Edwardsville, Illinois. All in all, Missouri is still to me, my home town and where most of my family still lives.
In looking for bands, I decided to go with Missouri and leave Colorado for Tamirisc who was born and raised here. This first band I found actually hailed from Kansas City, MO. I had never heard of them before but love their sound. They are aptly called, "Missouri "
This Gospel singer hails from the St. Louis area. She is known to belt out a tune wherever she is. I would only know this because she was once a personal friend and co-worker. We sat beside each other for nearly a year and she often entertained me with her powerful and beautiful voice. She went on to cut a couple of CD's and left the office for the music business. This wonderful lady is Lady Eneazer Blissett-Moore.
This next band is actually from Festus, MO where I spent the majority of my life. They now are based in St. Louis and are still quite popular in the area. They do not forget where they are from and often still perform in Festus. They are, " The Bottle Rockets"
Although not born in Missouri, this singer moved to St. Louis when he was seven and claims to hail from there as that is where he was discovered. He has been wildly successful and has his own clothing lines too.
None other than, Nelly.
I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for listen to my tunes every week. You all rock!

Just like you counting on someone else to cover Colorado, I knew I could count on you to cover St. Louis. Although, I'm surprised you didn't include Chuck Berry or play Meet Me in St. Louie. Good songs regardless. Go Cards!

We're going to miss you Naila, but sometimes you just have to take time out life gets so busy. Loved all your tunes this week. You had a little bit of everything. I don't what you'd call Missouri - pop? but I liked their song and the country tune "Rich Man" too. And who would have thought that Nelly would be in the mix, hahahahaha - but there he is. Great having this last dance with you on our virtual dance floor. But I'll be seeing you on facebook. Have a great week and don't be a stranger around here.
No one will miss you more than me, and know that your spot is always open for when or if you would like to come back. NOT TO MENTION YOU ROCK! You always seem to find the right songs or the right thing to say! Thank you for being there & all the things you did for 4M! HUGS
Aww! well I will miss your Shouting witty comments over at mine each week, so there ;-)
I like hearing new stuff the one I knew was the fab Nelly, your friend has a good voice I hope she is doing well in the business.
I know your not going completely but take care Naila
Best Wishes
Steve
You will be missed as co-host, girlie, but I certainly understand. Sometimes you have to do what you gotta to keep your sanity. Of course, like you said, you'll still be around...even on the dance floor and that'll be fun. Nelly is the only one of your choices I've heard of before, but I don't know if I have actually listened to his music till now. Have a tunetastic week!
You are going to be BIG TIME missed, missy! :) Glad you're not ditching the blog and/or internet, though, so we can still harass...I mean entertain and be entertained by you. ;) Loved all your choices - many are new to me, so I'll have to check them out further!! How cool you were personally entertained by Lady Eneazer - one of those people you can proudly say "I knew her when!" ;) Thanks so much for the awesome dances - have a wonderful week, and we'll 'see' you around the interwebs! :)
The Rhythm Of My Heart says You Give Love A Bad Name, but I’m Crazy On You because The Story is Sweeter Than Fiction.
OH WOW! can that girl sing!!! LOVE love love her voice. I'll have to listen to that a few times.
Excellent picks. I had never heard of the the first few, but know Nelly and LOVE all your picks!
