"As long as you're going to be thinking, thing big." ~Donald Trump
April is here and the challenge has officially begun.
This is my second year at this challenge and frankly, I had no clue what I was going to do.
So, I put on my thinking cap.
I didn't want to do just random like last year, although, it could possibly turn out that way.
So, I thought bigger.
What to do? What to do?
Then I thought, quotes! YES!
So, I thought so more.
I literally took 8 hours to come up with the 26 quotes I wanted to use.
However, I thought big!
Now I am writing furiously so that I can go visit the over 1000+ participants and read their stuff which is sure to be awesome!
Oh and just as a shout out. Thank you Arlee Bird for bringing us this challenge. The growth we gain from it is immeasurable. My hat I tip to you sir! ;)
Please come back tomorrow and "B" as excited as I am.

The A-Z Challenge 2013 has arrived!
Recently I told you that I was going to do the A-Z Challenge again this year.
Well guess what? It's here! Well, that is it starts tomorrow.
I mentioned the fact that this year I actually picked a theme. Well, anyway, I kind of did.
Each letter of the alphabet will have a quote that begins with that letter. I will then write the blog based on that quote. Whew...wish me luck!
In addition to this blog, I am also doing the A-Z on my health blog. I know it is a ton but I am up for this challenge. Please follow me over there too. Nail Moon Project
(Hint: I could use some followers that really want to get healthy with me.)

Friday Blog hops
Hello everyone- I just want to let you know that I have not forgotten about you. I see your great stuff and am trying very hard to get by to say hi as quickly as I can.
Having said that, I am also behind with a few things. I want you to know that I am suspending Featured Friday Faces until the end of April.
The reason is two fold. First of all, I am just plain busy with my Mom's care and also because I am behind with my own work. The second reason is because the A-Z challenge is coming up beginning April 1st and with everything else going on, I will be lucky to just do that.
I WILL NOT FORGET YOU THOUGH! I appreciate you more than you can imagine.
So now, on to the blog hops. Please make sure you go by and say hi to all my fellow Friday hoppers.
Happy Easter, ~Naila Moon

Thankful Thursday and A Song (with linky)
Here it is already Thursday. Before we know it April is going to be here. I am still in Sedona but of course I have time for you all. Of course I also have time to be thankful for the gifts given this week as well. Won't you join me and my pal Xmas Dolly by linking up?
As my Mother was in the hospital this week, I am truly grateful for all the medical staff that took care of her. Her doctor really cares for his patients. The nurses and physical therapist were just superb. The rest of the personnel were helpful and joyful as well. I have never come across a staff so genuinely nice. Really!
So today, I am thankful for the medical staff, physical therapy staff and personnel at VMA in particular but also to the medical care staffs in hospitals, home care and nursing homes across the country. You all deserve kudos. Thank you.
One of the TV channels that my Mom had on was called C.A.R.E.
It was beautiful photos around Sedona and the area coupled with meditative music. This helped my Mother relax more than once and had a healing effect. It is long but very soothing.
So, here is my music to go along with my thanks this week.
Peace,
~Naila Moon

An open letter to...
An open letter...
Dear Anonymous,
I have to begin by saying I love getting comments on my blog. It pleases me because that means someone takes the time to ACTUALLY READ my blog. I often find the comments to be thought provoking and MAKE SENSE to the topic at hand.
I think the fact that you come by is truly special. Your two to three sentence replies to my blogs are unreal. However, I am beginning to have issue with you, Anonymous.
You see, you take up my precious time that I could be reading other people's comments that have real names and oh yes, real photos. Although your comments are sometimes...well, shall I say...interesting, it pains me to see that you missed the whole point of my blog. Did you not really read it?
I also find it quite interesting that your own "personal" blog would always leave me to some ad page. Are you aware this is happening? If not, I certainly think you should fix that. I mean seriously, you do not want some troll SPAMMING your page. Do you?
So, until you come to terms with all of this, I will have to continue to delete you and possibly not allow you EVER to be on my blog again. I really hope this does not happen but it is coming to that.
With much care and concern,
Naila Moon

Mondays Music Moves Me...the Blues
Hello my friends,
Coming by quickly for a little music this morning. Mondays Music Moves Me, hosted by the ever lovely Xmas Dolly.
This is my last week co-hosting and it has been quite a blast. I hoped to give you something fantastic today but I do not think I have much to offer as my Mom is in surgery today for her knee.
However, let me see what I can come up with. Today is a theme and that is the "Blues" but not necessarily the kind of music as sad songs.
I am not sure we want to hear sad songs on a Monday but I will do my best. ok?
When I think of the "Blues" I think of the master blues maker:
Then I thought of this song:
I think that is all I have for you this week.
Hope things warm up for those that are having snow for Spring.
Have a good week.

Review Excerpt of Shadow Moon by Marilee Brothers
Blurb:
Allie Emerson is hoping for a few quiet months to catch her breath after
a summer that included the discovery she is not only a twin and of faery blood,
but also destined to play a pivotal role in the faery world. School has barely
begun when Allie must kiss her hope of a normal year goodbye.
She can’t escape her unfinished business with the fae, the Trimarks, or
Junior Martinez who is making it clear he plans to win her back. Signs,
portents and whispers are pushing Allie to “find the girl” before it’s too
late. Hoping her twin can help her solve the riddle of their destiny, Allie
uncovers old secrets and begins a cross-country journey that puts her in more
danger than ever before. If she succeeds, she may just find the answers that
can save everyone she loves.
Excerpt:
Jessie held out a hand to Sammie. “Come forward, child,” he ordered.
Obediently, Sammie slid off the stool, still holding her guitar. As she approached Jessie, Sammie’s gaze skimmed over the crowd. Allie, are you out there?
Huh? Startled by the clarity of her voice inside my head, I almost stood and waved my arms. Had I imagined hearing Sammie’s words? One way to find out.
I’m here, Sammie. Last row. To your left. I thought the words and willed them to reach her. When her gaze swung to the back row, she smiled. Glad you’re here. A shiver slithered from the base of my neck down to the bottom of my spine. Before I had a chance to analyze what just happened, Jessie started his rant. He pointed out the pentagram tattoo on Sammie’s neck. “Ladies and gentlemen, do you understand the significance of this tattoo?”
I heard people mutter “Black magic,” and “Satanism.” The color rose in Sammie’s face. My cheeks warmed up in response. A tsunami of emotions flooded my mind. Embarrassment. Simmering rage. Frustration. Shame. I clenched my fists and pressed my lips together to keep from crying out. How could this be happening? How could I feel what Sammie was feeling? Hear her thoughts? How could she hear mine? Above all, what did it mean?

Ahoy, me mateys! I am so excited to announce the launch of Carole P. Roman's newest book from her Captain No Beard series called, Stuck in the Doldrums. I have had the privilege of reading all the previous books and I know this one is just as fantastic.
Here is a synopsis of the book:
Captain No Beard and his crew are at it again, but when the wind stops blowing, The Flying Dragon gets stranded on a desert island! With his first mate, Hallie; Linus the Lion; Fribbert the Frog; Mongo the Monkey; and Polly the Parrot, Captain No Beard has to find a way to use teamwork and understanding to get through the problem at hand. However, when Captain No Beard gets bossy and makes playtime miserable for the crew, he soon finds himself alone and helpless when a giant squid attacks. Just when it seems like the captain is in over his head, his faithful crew reunites and teaches him an important lesson.
Full of adventure and silliness, this lighthearted children’s book teaches the importance of compromise, cooperation, taking turns, and sharing. The crew of The Flying Dragon also demonstrates that even when there are disagreements, friends support one another. In addition to valuable lessons, Captain No Beard’s adventure is full of the type of danger and excitement that’s sure to keep young readers captivated and attentive from beginning to end. With undeniable charm, Captain No Beard and his crew teach young readers valuable lessons in life that can keep anyone out of the doldrums.

Goodnight, Brian Book Review
I had only read a snippet of the book before I received a copy, so I had no idea what the book was really about.
I honestly could say that Goodnight, Brian was about unconditional love of another and be completely done with my post.
That would be an honest assessment but certainly not do the book justice or Steven Manchester of whom is a prolific writer. I was so enamored with this book that I read it in a day and a half.
The story centers around and begin with the Mauretti family who has just given birth to little Brian. His mother begins him on a soy formula after only a few weeks of breast feeding.
The food that should be making Brian a strong and healthy baby instead turns to heartbreak. Little Brian ends up with mortifying results. After multiple testings he is found to be severely brain damaged with no hope to achieve any of the milestones. With an unfathomable diagnoses, doctors write him off as a lost cause.
However, enters the matriarch of the family, Angela DiMartino, known as Mama.
Mama is a strong Italian grandmother with award winning recipes, a strong faith, and a heart of gold.
Mama refuses to accept the diagnosis of little Brian and takes him under her wing. She will not allow anyone in her family or outsider treat Brian with disrespect or with indifference.
With the help of family, unwavering patience, perseverance and unconditional love, Mama stimulates Brian slowly through all the milestones that the doctors said would never occur.
A bond is formed that can never be broken and the entire Mauretti and DiMartino family learns that sometimes strengths are found within challenges.
So, what happens to Brian, Mama and the family in the end?
Well, that I leave you to find out for yourself.
Goodnight, Brian is truly a beautiful and well written book. The book is a must, must read.
Get out your tissues because this book gets a two thumbs way up.

Thankful Thursday and A Song (Link up)
Hello everyone from Sedona, AZ. I am here for a few weeks helping my Mother out because she is going to have knee surgery on Monday.
Today is Thursday and it is the day I post what I am grateful for this week.
Link up with me and my blogger bud, Xmas Dolly below and let's share together.
I have to say being in Sedona is so beautiful and I am grateful for the beauty that the creator affords the people that live and visit here everyday.
I am really grateful for the technology that got me here though, that being airplanes. I got a peek at the pilots cockpit and it is an absolute marvel. I would be lost in all of that!
So there it is for me this week. A lovely scenery to enjoy that I was able to see because I flew here.
So happy to revel in it.
What are you thankful for this week? Tell us about it and of course please link up.

Book review and giveaway...Walk With Me by Darby Davenport
Darby Davenport is a new writer of romance novellas but not new to writing.
In her first book Walk With Me we meet the character of Charlie who has just rescued a rottweiler from the pound and knows nothing about dogs. We also meet Ethan, who own a golden retriever and has a past that hurts him with loving another woman. The two meet in a dog park where Charlie is desperately trying to teach her new dog to behave.
What goes from a chance meeting turns in to a hot and steamy romance. The story twists and turns with Charlie and Ethan shedding everything including their clothing. One where past hurts, past loves, and simply the past melt away with honest to goodness lust.
-------------
I can honestly say that romance novels have not been my favorite genre but I was pleasantly surprised by reading this one. Darby Davenport's book had substance which was totally unexpected. The characters are fun, relate-able and real.
Great job and congratulations, Darby, on your entry in to romance.
Guess what? Darby is celebrating the launch of her new book by a giveaway just for you. That is right!
Here is what she is giving away:

Pin It to win it Giveaway of Customizo.com
Welcome to The Pin To Win It With Customizo Event!
Recently I was sent a customized t-shirt for review from a company called Customizo.
The shirt they sent has a blue tiger design with an original piece that can now be found in their templates in the design studio. The details are pretty awesome I think.
I have to say that I was quite impressed that the tagless label was also a Hanes product. No cheap shirt here.
Upon looking around at their site, Customizo.com, I learned some pretty cool things. If I wanted to, I could create my own customized t-shirt. Having a t-shirt that was in purple with a pink skull on it that says, "I rock!" on it would be kind of fun.
However, if I was not the creative type then I could upload the pre-made designs they have from the design studio. I could write in my own words too.
Customizo is an innovative group of sites that help groups with apparel and product design, collaboration and purchasing. With their design tools, group collaboration platform, mobile content integration and centralized hub of fully customizable artwork templates, creating and designing, bringing your designs to life is easy.

Have you heard the A-Z challenge?
Pretty soon April will be upon us and the A-Z challenge will be here.
What is that you say? You have never heard of it?
The A-Z challenge is a month long writing challenge that begins literally with "A". Each days letter will be the next letter in the alphabet. The only days not written on are Sundays.
For those that really want to challenge themselves they can do the A-Z video challenge. This is the same concept but just over video.
This is the second year that I am doing this. Last year was interesting because I learned so much from other people as well as pushed myself out of my normal realm.
The hosts usually recommend that the writers/video people follow a theme. I did not do that last year but this year...you bet!
This year I will have a quote that starts with every letter of the alphabet and will expand on the quote.
I was going to do not only one blog but two of my blogs. I have since thought that might be a bit much but we shall see.
Having said all this, a few things will be on hold that would be normal for the month of April, that is my memes. Although, I still may incorporate them too. Who knows what April will bring!
In any case, there is still time to join the over 1000+ people that sign up. Just click on the icon above and have at it. Try it, you may just like it!

Mondays Music Movie...My Life in Music
Happy Monday everyone. As you know, I am honorary co-conductor this month of the music train hosted by Xmas Dolly and he co-conductors of Stacy, Callie and Cathy.
Congratulations to our Spotlight Dancer, Becca!
This week is a bit of challenge as it comes from my number 1 man, Tamirisc aka Chronicles of the Man Cave. He is challenging us this week to post songs that tell a story about our life or one encompassing song that can do the same thing. Whoa!! This is gonna be a ride so, hold on!
So as I was born in January of 1968 in a snow storm, I will start there.
The 70's and into the early 80's was all about school and traveling in the Summers. My parents always thought it was important we learned history through seeing places. For the record, I have been to 48 states and 3 countries. Some state numerous times.
One very poignant trip was traveling the original 13 colonies. We saw wagon trains all over the place. My Mother made us special outfits to wear too.
The outfit I am wearing here is the one my Mom and I wore for the '76 trip. |
From 1982-1986 It was all about high school, partying and having a good time. Well, with working thrown in there too.
This group was the people I ran around with and partied with. I am still friend with some of them to this day. |
During these years I met my first real love. His name was Aaron. We were engaged for 3 of the 6 years we were together. (For the record, we never married)
This song was the theme song from my Senior prom and yes, that is us.

Me the High School graduate in 1986 |
In the Fall of 1986 I found myself in college for the first time. I was supposed to be majoring in Elementary Ed. instead I was majoring in Billiards and fun!
I am going to leave you here until next week. I promise to share more so you have to come back.
