"Just happy little accidents." ~Bob Ross

I don't know about you but I always did like watching Bob Ross paint on PBS TV.  His voice was soothing as his brushes of paint were fascinating. I often wanted to be lost in those painting of far away cottages and his "happy little trees".

If I really think about it, Bob Ross was probably someone I could say I looked to when it came to creativity. I loved the way his painting made you feel dreamy and happy. His excitement over his "happy little accidents" in his paintings made me want to paint and see what would come of it.

I wonder sometimes if the world would be a better place if we looked for the "happy little accidents", you know, those things that surprise us. Maybe we would speak softer, be nicer and hope for good things for each other.

Maybe Bob Ross' approach to life in his paintings was spot on.

What do you think?

I've always loved watching Bob Ross! I still do! My four year old son loves watching him paint too! I think his philosophy was definitely one that the world could benefit from!

When I read this: "I wonder sometimes if the world would be a better place if we looked for the "happy little accidents", you know, those things that surprise us." the first thought that came to my head is how I call my boys "surprises" and correct people when they call them "accidents" because we didn't plan them. We knew we wanted children. We just didn't have them on the agenda at that moment.

I've actually never watched him when he was on TV, but I think you have a point about happy little accidents.

Naila, I so loved Bob Ross. I could have listened to him speak for hours as he painted. He had a voice and an approach to art that just sank right into my soul. He was so soothing. Thanks for the "happy little..." Great post. God bless, Maria from Delight Directed Living

Oh, I watched him too when I was growing up, it was his voice and the fact that he made it all look so easy. This was quite a memory. Lucy from Lucy's Reality

I did watch him paint when I was younger. Fun times. I still wish I could paint landscapes like he could.
