I found a site that wants to celebrate around the world as mothers are generally peace keepers. This is what they had to say:
Mother’s Day was conceived in the 1600's as a day to celebrate women's vital role in peacemaking. It is celebrated in 44 countries around the world. We invite a return to that original intention, a global sisterhood of peace joined as one across tribes and nations.
So, maybe some of you are saying at this point this is all a bunch of mumbo-jumbo hoopla. Well, maybe it is, but can it really hurt to gather together in a common goal?
How many of our children have been injured or killed due to violence? How many of our children go hungry? How many of our children do not get a good education? How many of our children are homeless?
You say, well, this is not MY child. Which of course may be true but it is someones child!
Let us take a moment, we Mothers, on Mother's Day, to pray for our children, our families and for peace around the world. Just a moment.
At 1PM New York time, stop and take a moment to say this prayer collectively:
Mother’s Day Peace Prayer
Together Let Us Invoke the Power of Unconditional Love and Commitment from
All the Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties, and All Women, Circling the Earth,
To Awaken the Global Heart, by Lifting our Voices in a Chorus for Peace.
We will move forward to Influence Humanity
For a More Caring, Just, Tolerant and Peaceful World.
Let It Be So.
