Thankful Thursday and A Song w/linky
Welcome back to another Thursday, the last for this month.
Today is Thankful Thursday, hosted by myself and Xmas Dolly, the day we all discuss what we have been thankful for during the week.
This week I have been very thankful for opportunities. I have had some very different opportunities arise this week in different avenues of my life.
I cannot be thankful enough for them and some of the people who have put them in my path. They have only helped me to move forward.

Bible Series Premiere and Walmart $15 GC Giveaway
In fact, my Mother collected Bibles and had many editions in our home that were fully accessible to us if we wanted to look at them or read them.
That is why I find it interesting that on March 3rd beginning at 8PM (check your local listenings) the History Channel is going to present a 10 part miniseries retelling many of the stories that I grew up with. Check out the clips from the miniseries too. Looks pretty awesome to me.
If this is not enough excitement for you then guess what?
There is a giveaway attached to this premier! That's right!
In working with the History Channel, they will provide one of my readers with a $15 Walmart Gift Certificate.
Isn't that great?
So check out the premier's countdown and make sure to watch on March 3rd. Will you recognize your favorite characters from the Bible? Watch and find out!

Mondays Music...Feb, 25, 2013
Wow, here it is the last Monday of February. Time has flown!
Of course it being Monday, that means Mondays Music Moves Me with the train crew hosted by Xmas Dolly. She gets tons of help from Callie, Stacy and Cathy and honorary co-host Becca.
This week we have a theme and that is songs that bring back a good memory and for grins, tell why. This should be interesting!
First up: Although I am quite aware this is a Christmas song, it also one of my favorites. My parents had an album that had this song on it. Every year my brothers and I would play all the Christmas albums but this was a favorite that got played over and over.
A typical family Christmas photo-craziness! |
This song reminds me of all our wonderful Christmases together as a family. In 2010 was the last time that we would ever have a Christmas as I always knew them.
Next: This one is an odd one because it is for a game show. I know, crazy right? Here me out.
For as long as I could remember my Grandma loved to watch Wheel of Fortune (she never missed it). My Mother and I often sat down and watched it with her.
When I had my children and they were very young, we would watch it in the evening together. We watched it so much that my children actually learned their letters and how to spell in some ways.
photos source |
Again, it is a beautiful memory of family and as Wheel of Fortune is 30 years old, I have grown up with it my entire life.
Listen to the 7 theme songs (if you can believe it).
Note: This is long so just listen to a couple.
Lastly: This song is one I have posted before but it has such special meaning to me.
When I first met Tamirisc for the first time on Labor Day weekend in 2008, we were having dinner at his (then) place. We were listening to a variety of music over dinner when this song came on. He looked at me and I at him and we both said at the same time, "this is our song".
This is us on that long weekend in 2008. |
I never had an "our song" in my entire life. It was a beautiful and romantic moment.
Four months later, we would play it for our wedding day.

Featured Faces and Aloha Friday/Free For All
Coming in on a late Friday evening for Aloha Friday and Featured Faces.
How is everyone doing this evening. Today is National Margarita Day so, if you have a glass, tip a cheer to one and all. (For the record, I am sans drink. sigh...)
I am going to start out with Aloha Friday/Free For All, hosted by Stacy, a day to sit back and relax. I ask a simple question and you are welcome to answer simply too. When you are through, go write one for your bloggers and invite me over to answer.
My question:
Who is your best friend? Why is she/he your best friend? Tell me in comments.
My answer:
I have spoken about my best friends Kelly and Debra. Each of them are my best friends for different reasons but most of all, I have always been able to count on them. I could always trust they would be there whether through good times or bad. The friendships go both ways.
Featured Faces Friday
It always thrills me when Friday comes around because I get to introduce one or more of my followers to you. This week once again I am featuring two. Please go by, say hello and follow them.
Remember, if you get featured on my blog for the week, your photo and link to your blog goes in the upper right hand corner and you get to receive my coveted blog badge which is a photo of my Grandma when she was a little girl.

Giveaway and Review of Woolzies Dryer Balls
My husband and I have season allergies, although sometimes, I think they are all year round.
We try to use products that are allergen free but it not always possible.
So, I was pretty excited when I received the product Woolzies Dryer Balls.
"Woolzies are a nontoxic dryer ball that does not coat clothing with dangerous chemicals, therefore making your laundry safe for all. Also, Woolzies cuts your drying time down sometimes as much as 40% saving you and your family time and money."
As it turns out, Tamirisc and I need to wash our bed sheets and comforter. What better time to try out something for the laundry!
I find the name to be kind of funny but the product itself is really great!
Here I talk about these:
Woolzies Dryer Balls as you could see made our comforter nice and fluffy and is the best for soft fabrics and no wrinkling. The company says they last for 1000 dries and I look forward to that. Money saved, yes!
Best yet, Tamirisc and I have not itched from the fabric usually caused from non-allergen detergents and fabric softners.
Would you like your own set of Woozies Dryer Balls? Well, now you can!
One of my very lucky readers has the chance to win a box of their very own. Enter in the Rafflecopter below.
Disclosure: I received a this product in exchange for my open and honest opinion. Just The Stuff Ya Know/Naila Moon is not responsible for prize shipment. Prize will be shipped by the company.
Giveaway ends March 7, 2013.
Green Cleaning Products Review & Giveaway!
Unfortunatley, I just can't do all of it. I do what I can.
So, I was really happy when I was recently, given the chance to review some 'green' products from the Green Cleaning Coach, Leslie Reichert.
"Leslie Reichert, “The Cleaning Coach”, is a nationally-recognized green home keeping expert dedicated to educating people on keeping their homes, schools and work areas “green”."
The kit included an Eco sponge, glass cleaning cloth and the "ultimate 'paper' towel". To say these products weren't amazing would do them injustice.

"the ultimate 'paper' towel"- |
Now, I am ready to tell you about the window cloth, check this out:
So. if you want some good green products I recommend you check out the Green Cleaning Coach, Lisa Reichert and purchase some of these if you can. It is worth it especially if you have allergies or just want to go green. I am certainly happy to have them in my home. ~Naila Moon

Thankful Thursday and A Song 2/21/2013 (LINKY)
This week for Thankful Thursday and A Song I want to talk about memories.
Sometimes I wonder what we would do without our memories.
We tend to love them and regret them too.
I have some memories that I would just as soon forget but I also have very beautiful memories that I wish to remember forever.
In any case, all of the things I remember have shaped me in to who I am today and I am grateful for them.
What are you thankful for today?
Link up below and let Xmas Dolly and myself know. We will come and visit.

Wordless(ish) Wednesday 2/20/2013
This week I am sharing a photo I took this past Christmas.
There is a market here in Denver that only is available every Christmas.
It is an outdoor market called 'The ChristKindl Market and is of German heritage.
We just were able to visit the last day of the market but I was able to take a few photos.
This one is of stacking doll sets. I love the color and variety. I really wanted them all.

Tuesday's Topics...Letters
Hello my favorite blog peeps. How are you today?
Welcome to another discussion of Tuesday's Topics. This week I want to talk all about letters.
No, not the ABC's. I am talking about real handwritten letters.
Do you remember those?
I remember writing friends that I had met at Summer camp and pen pals too. I had a few pen pals actually not too long ago. I should write them again.
Anyway, the art of letter writing is almost completely a thing of the past with e-mail, texting, Facebook etc. etc. However, some people just won't completely let it go (like me) and some people are bringing it back in style.
This past Sunday I came across an article about the winner of the kindness award. (Who knew there was an award?) Upon clicking on the article I found a gal by the name of Hannah Brencher.
Hannah was feeling very lonely in New York City and was literally on the subway when she realized others might be lonely too and in need of encouragement.
Right then she wrote her very first, what she calls love letters, to a stranger. She then dropped it off somewhere for someone else to find. Before she knew it, she had written 400 love letters to strangers and 'delivered' them all over New York. Of course she blogged about it.
What began with 400 became thousands with the help of some friends and bloggers. Hannah and her volunteer crew mail out bundles of love letters every month to people who have requested to have letters sent to another, not to mention the ones that still get stuck here and there. How cool is that?
If you think someone could use a pick-me-up, you can go over to the site and submit a name. Believe me, the recipient will get letters! Don't you wished you received something besides junk in the mail?
So, where does this leave me?
I have decided after reading this great article, that I am going to leave random letters in places around this area. I hope my letters will bring hope or encouragement to someone that finds them.
Next, I am going to find the addresses of the pen pals I had (which numbered 4) and write them letters.
I might join the crew at "More Love Letters" and send through their PO box but I am going to do the above first.
I encourage you to follow suit. Who knows who might pick up your letter. It may be just the words that person needs that day.
Tell me in comments. Who would you send a letter to? What do you think about today's topic?
Peace and love,
~Naila Moon

Review of Vicky Finds A Valentine by Emlyn Chand
I am so excited to get the opportunity to review another book by Emlyn Chand. With Valentine's Day being today it could not have come at a better time.
Vicky Finds A Valentine is the story of Vicky, the love bird and her best friend Marie Johnson.
Vicky loves being the family pet bird and having "conversations" with Marie, an excitable 1st grader.
One conversation about Valentine's Day leads Vicky out of her cage and on an adventure to seek out that one special friend to become Valentine's. She seeks the help of some unlikely characters who seem to ignore her requests. Just when you think all might be lost, a twist in the story leads itself to a very happy ending.
This children's book is so cute and really let's young children know what being friends is all about. The illustrations, done one again by Noelle Giffin, lend a nice touch to a great book. This book is for the younger set up to about 9 years old. I highly recommend this book to be in any child's library. Both thumbs up!

Thankful Thursday and A Song/Valentine's Day 2-14-2013
Here it is the big Valentine's Day. It also happens to be Thursday and another day to be thankful for the things of the week.
Although, I am not a huge Valentine's Day person (just ask Tamirisc), I am thankful for the loved ones I have.
Thankful for the love my parents had for each other, that I am here today.
Thankful for my children who make me laugh (and cry too) and thankful for my grand-children who are just simply precious.
Most of all today though, I am thankful for the love of my Tamirisc.
Very recently, we have been going through a rough time with our extended families but side by side we are able to wade through this mud. It makes it easier knowing that his love for me is sometimes the only thing that keeps me sane.
I make an effort to tell him that I love him everyday or at very least in my actions.
So, knowing that he will eventually read this...I LOVE YOU HONEY!
I am most grateful for you in my life. Thanks for loving me.
~Your wife, Naila Moon
