I have a dirty little secret. It is one I am a little embarrassed to admit but, here it goes...

I have a love/hate relationship with Book Covers.
Whew, there I said it!

It is true. When I see a book at my local library or at my favorite book store, I simply fall in love with the covers. Their colors, their letters, their pictures beg me to pick up the book. It is these eye candy that some times I can't resist and those covers woo me in to submission and I bring home that book.

However, the cruelty of the book cover turns me in to a raving lunatic.  As I go to pick up my much coveted book with all its pretty letters and colors, the book cover snaps at me by falling off. It tangles in the pages. It tears.

Oh, how I now hate those covers. Hate them!
I rip them off, toss them aside and I am done with them, never to return them to the book. That is unless...

...the book is due at the library.

Book covers should show what lies beneath. If they fall off, how will you know?

I throw away book covers, too. I kind of like it when my books look like they've been read and loved.

Yes, they are beautiful, aren't they, Naila? I am drawn in by the cover instead of the content sometimes.
Good thoughts....enjoy the A to Z challenge!

AH, but if you never open the book then you truly will never know. "Don't judge a book by its cover" right? *grins*
Thanks for coming by.

Some covers more than others. However, I have seen some gorgeous books under those covers too.
Thanks for coming by.

I like to preserve the cover and put it away until I finish the book and then replace it even though it is meant to protect the book!!
Thanks for dropping by to my blog. See you soon...!

Thanks Betty for stopping in and for thinking I am funny.

Now see, you still take the cover off to read the book though. ;-) However, it is all about loving the book.
Thanks for coming by.

Most of my books don't have removable covers, I get a log of paperbacks. But yeah, I look at them too. But I look more at titles. I judge writing and books by what the novel's called sometimes.

I actually judge books sometimes that way too. I also look at the first paragraph of books to see if I might want to read it.
